IMG_1966.JPG I finally did a little wrenchin the last couple days, not so successfully as it turns out :)

First I decide to get the new clutch put on my EC660 and realized that Eric told me it needed a flywheel and/or coil as well, which I completely forgot to order.
Well the dealer got me the ignition and I installed it along with the filed key.
I flipped the saw over and had to cheat to get the clutch off because my hand has a big ouchie on the palm from surgery so instead of spark plug wrench I went full on long ratchet with big rubber handle :)
Had to use it to remove the spark plug as well, I am such a puss.
AND OF COURSE I had ordered the wrong clutch because I forgot we used an early 066 crankcase for this 066/MS660 build.

Next up I decided to finish up the DRF255 044 he built me and immediately remembered why there had been an 044 air filter box flange on my bench (which I sold on Ebay yesterday thinking it had been misplaced).

So I ordered a new one and spent a couple hours cleaning shop.

dave is that a clone or a oem 660
It's a hybrid kinda doohickey. I asked if he would build me a fast saw and then asked if he cared if we used a bunch of AM parts.
He was pretty upfront about whichever parts he thought were not up to the task in a gtg saw.
We used an oem top end, crankshaft, carburetor, powder coated 066 crankcase, hd2 air filter, oem flywheel and coil and he was pretty sure that the clutch wouldn't hold up so that got switched as well.
Everything else is am as far as I remember

The no decomp cylinder isn't like that one
It looks like the 440 decomp cylinder without the decomp.
Earlier is better if you are not going to port one but if you are then it doesn't matter nearly as much

dadgummit Rattler don't be posting these pics up here. You're getting me all jacked up about a 10mm -- and here I had swore off of buying any more saws

@jmssaws and @Keith Gandy
I just did a pressure test on my saw. It held 10psi solid for at least 10 minutes.
I also did a vac test and again the saw held 10inHg solid for over 10 minutes.
No leaks found at this point.

Since I had the carb off (which is a Zama C3M) I decided to remove the compensator and take a look inside. I think the metering lever is really low. It's kind of hard to tell in the picture but I tried to show how low the lever is in reference to the top of the carb. What do you guys think?image.jpeg
