You have got to be kidding Tor..!! You want MORE !! :D This is going to be hard on the pull start . Wonder just how mush the big and little end bearings could stand in standard form from that lift in compression…you confident in longevity ?
my next one will get 1,5mm ring piston (new), this one have 1mm ring piston. Currious how they will perform against the other 254 I have, that one has normal compression, like 175 psi

Ahh..now I may be able to actually pass on some information your way for a change. My 254 with a Mahle cylinder,1.5mm ring on a oem piston showed 155psi. I opened out the in and out a little, gasket matched but did no trans work or changed the squish. Did a Exhaust mod removing the crinkle pipe in the top and enlarging the holes in the baffle right in front of the exhaust port . The tube i welded into the muffler was calculated at 18 mm giving 70% exhaust port size.
Result…a comfortable 13800 free and could have gone 14000 + but i dile down 300/500rpm to be safe …on a 15 in bar .325 full chisel it would hold anything up to 10800 in the cut with authority and in small wood !! well lets say it was fast cutting . From standard it was no slouch but lightly worked on it was very quick on the throttle and had staying power.

Well this wont fit on my bench right now but its what I'm currently working on, new brakes, steering box is being rebuilt, new airbags, few other suspension parts. Fix a few little air leaks, Then off to get the valves adjusted, dot inspected and polished up for the year. 2007 379 with a 6nz C-15 Cat with a 13 speed.

Next to my bench at the shop, Oregon
Well here's everything on my bench at the shop:
MS192 waiting on new crank seals.
MS200T waiting on a new fuel line.
MS170 with an intake manifold leak(Stupid plastic clamp).
026 Pro waiting on a new carb.
MS362 that I am taking apart that needs a new tank housing, and throttle controls due to the handle being smashed off at some point.
And sitting under my bench waiting for attention is an 044 that the customer says starts an dies.
Here at home sitting on my bench is a 600 CFM holley that rebuilt and FINALLY got to work right. Tomorrow I'll put it on a motor and see how it performs.

This is a 2 into 1 kinda deal …have made 1 good runner from the 2 Dolmar 115i saws i had in boxes. Its also become a test saw to try the basic mods on the 115i and see what they do to a saw that owes me very little. First mod …gasket delete gave me a squish of a whisker under 20 thou and got me from 150 psi to 175 psi. Also gave me the chance to test out "Three Bond 1184" i bought as iv not used it before. Seems to have gone well …so far :DPhoto0640.jpg

Simon,
Isnt it funny to go gasket less :D?
if the impulse line go through the gasket like it do on Husky 254,346,357 etc, after you put the jug down and torque it, remember to take an air pistol and blow through the impulse channel. Else you can risk to block the impulse channel :)

Yes indeed Tor the impulse works the same way as the 242 254 ….ect. I was as meen as i could be with the 1184 and the amount that squeezed out on the outside was very small so i hoped it wasn't going to be any more inside . I did give it a puff of air as you say for insurance though. That 1184 is messy stuff to use but i bought it before seeing that Locktite 518 you have so thought i should give it a try. Had a look over the other Locktite numbers 515 i think was higher temp but decided you had a good reason for the 518 and will order some at some point.
115i runs stable at idle and under load so i assume all is well for now …till start messing again :)

What's with all the little saw's on your bench TJ? I was thinking that the pnw was the land of big saw's and long bar's...
The 044 and 362 are the only big boys on my bench right now. lol Since spring hasn't quite gotten here all the little saws are coming in. But give it another month and all the big boys will be coming. lol

Sweet truck,
I'm doing a 2016 389 glidder kit. Pete's frame paint is horrible so i took the
whole truck apart. Had the frame rails and all cross members, bits and pieces,
rear ends, everything thats mounted to the frame sand blasted and painted
with imron. This is a double frame truck and there was no paint in between
the rails. This glidder is getting the 6NZ as well but it's getting the 18918 18
speed trany.

Time to get some speed in this thread again, almost a forgotten one.....

Would your guys use this piston? 357, year 07.
_DSC2200.jpg

Almost empty of Plastigauge, I really need to buy in another pack... 346 OE, 0,020" squish
_DSC2199.jpg

Gave it new bearings and new caber. Needs to get the intake clamp and will go gasketless as well:_DSC2202.jpg

Personally I don't think i would use that piston again Tor out of choice…guess you have a idea what got it to pick up?
Ahh now…new i had seen the upgrade combination on the 346 somewhere before . That gives you the better filter and a available carb + parts if iv got it right ??

yup, intake air leak was the issue on the 357, easy catch. Luckily they guy didnt scored it badly, not decided yet if I will polish the piston or trow one meteor piston in.....

All my 346's get 199 carb and filter, i got so many of them so why not give those 346 an extra pinch ;) later I guess I will work with the lower transfer, before I do any other port work.
