that is probleby correct. They also changed the xpg handle around 04 or something.
I could pick spare parts as I wanted in the shop where I got most of my last saws from, so so I took 182 and 195 carb also, just incase one of my 199 shouldnt work.
I have 3×357xpg going on also, I dont stress with them, eyed out 2×262's, think both are 90 model ;) dunno if i get them or not.
357 is another one I'm on the hunt for if one turns up in ok condition as have been told about the easy and tested "Auto Decomp Delete" by another Forum member. Iv seen many conflicting opinions on this and its put me off . The early ones are "almost " affordable and most have the dreaded De comp unit !
262 x 2…depends if you can sell one on to help fund restoration of the other ??

I've two with auto decomp and two without, those with auto is 05 models, those without is 07 models.
Autodecomp is pain in the ass, there is lots more carbon build up in transfers compared to the other non auto I have, so it never worked out good.

This is how I did with my auto decomp system:
There is a plug pressed in in one of the transfer channels, I simply pulled it out and threaded up for M5, locktite and it should be a 100% secure system. (I don't trust a plug like they had pressed in), besides, I saved the money for the parts I needed to buy for blocking this channel

If I can get those 262's they will be keepers lol

Tor..you have a 262 addiction problem :)
Thats another way i can see would work fine. I was more concerned from looking at other info that it was actually OK to delete the A Decomp on those design of cylinder and that running issues could follow. I see no issues now as sealing the cylinder and ether a blank or button decamp would do the trick.

The biggest issue those auto decomp had was airleak, only worry I would have if thery are scored or not, I was lucky with my two.
357 auto decomp had so lousy reputation that I know that the biggest shop at that time refused to sell them.
Lol, I got to know this because I hoped they had many 199 carbs I could get as freebies and do TM modd on them :D

There reputation is exactly why i have not paid good money for one without knowing how to get rid of it as i want it as a general firewood saw. Not one of Husqvarna's best fitments ! The 199 carb has issues of its own hasn't it …earlier HDA carbs on 242 245 262 were much less aggro from my own experience.

you can easily fix the 199 issue, correct gasket kit (k24hda) (the trouble maker was the blue gasket instead of the tan gasket) and a 3,3 mm hole on where more carbs have the whole on the carbs top cover , 199 miss that whole. The other you can do is to place a 182/195 top cover instead. Three monkey have a video how he do it.
Auto decomp you eliminate by blocking that tranfser whole.

Also finally finished up a 088, 655bp, and fixed the recoil on my p-52. Took them all out for a spin in big 40"+ pin oak!

Gotta love it when neighbors (3 properties down) stop by because they could hear the old muscle running and had to come check out what I was running. LOL

My evening will be to prepare crankcases for new bearings, 42, 42 special, 2x254, 2x262 and 346oe.
Got them in the post today, I kinda like that they cost 1/2 the price compared to Huskies prices.

Freebie, dunno what I will do with this 353 jug, miss one working crankcase and a few other parts to build one 353. Not sure if I am done sanding this jug either.

I was a but currious how this good old thin ring piston 254 version would be in compression. 0,1mm without gasket, gave her 0,4mm gasket, so something like 0,5-0,6mm in squish.
This KS jug is the one I would had love to have on all my 254's, huge different in compustion chamber vs all the other 254 jugs. Luckily I have another one of them :D I think if I could get a new ring the compression should be a tad higher. This one will get hda 120 carb.

Looks like someone will be burning the midnight oil …Again.. Tor .;)
Have a SKF factory about 10 miles from me.
Check out how good deal you can get with SKF and update us, I was shocked they could deliver exact same bearings as oem Husky.

Factory ..not a place that will sell to individuals. They supply the trade with stock from there.

You have got to be kidding Tor..!! You want MORE !! :D This is going to be hard on the pull start . Wonder just how mush the big and little end bearings could stand in standard form from that lift in compression…you confident in longevity ?
