He came home (after 12 hours or so), put that saw in a vice and went to town with a Husky roller guide. Got one tooth kinda there, then came in for a shower and some eats. I was already in the garage so I filed away all the damage. He can touch it up if he wants in the a.m. He just hit the sack. Real work wears him out, lol! That's the worst chain I've ever saw.

Well I just ordered a new piston ring and crank seals for the old echo 360t 22 bucks after shipping. 6 years of 200 plus days a year use its still pulling strong but has a Lil blow by. If I had the cash I'd purchase a short block and port the old case. Kinda stoked to pull this old saw apart and freshen it up hopefully before the chainsaw races.

Fixed up an 044 today....rebuilt the whole fuel system and tuned up the saw. Runs pretty decent. It's a red lever 044 with the slant fins...10 mm???
Now working on two 362's with unknown problems.
Waiting on parts for a Shindawa t230x as well.

Two 44.7mm MS260 jugs. One for Rodney and one for a clean MS260 PRO I'll probably keep for myself.

Bases cut and plating chamfered. I'll cut the bands tonight.

So much for taking time off of saw work. A good buddy had an issue with his father's MS260 and I couldn't resist. I've got a soft spot for building someone's fathers saw.

What you charge to cut squish and base on a 026 pro? I may be intrested in a compression bump.

If you want it to run well, you need port work after dropping the jug.

Cutting the stock band out, sanding the chamber to match the piston, and cutting the base (to yield .020 squish) on a 44mm 026 jug will yield

Porting has been played with and as a oh26 fanatic you are I'm shure you would love how this saw runs. I'd be willing to bump my transfer port back up a bit if needed but this Lil *b-word runs. Only catch is im a base gasket guy. I know they can be sealed up good without a gasket but I like to have a base gasket to help keep harmonic vibes down and a stupid sense that a gasket can help keep a case and bearings cooler than metal to metal20150217_171826.jpg

Keith, where did you get (what is it):

1) to block the intake,

2) to provide air through the plug?

Also, I use a 034 muffler spacer with a double layer of bike inner tube, and some short bolts, to seal the exhaust. It is a lot easier to work with (instead of re-installing the whole muffler.
