Take the limiters off of then bg55 and take out the spark arrestor/cat thing in the tip of the muffler and it really wakes up. Thought I was having carb trouble in mine and the spark arrestor/cat was stopped up. Once I took it out it has ran great since.

Mine would idle and run ok until it warmed up then it would bog and die if you pressed the throttle or if you tried to idle. Once I took that out and retuned it has been great. Obnoxiously loud but really wakes it up. I use it to get in all the crevices that aren't so easy with my backpack then use the backpack when I need to move large areas stuff.

Still using my alpina vip 25 and shindaiwa 230x I've had them since the early 90s most people don't maintain their equipment this guy tried too but bought a new stihl trimmer because that guy ripped him off on the tuneups and he needed one last week.

That's kinda how I get all my stuff. My dad mows a few yards and dropped his fs90 off of a trailer. He couldn't get it started so it sat in a corner for 2 years before he gave it to me thinking I wouldn't get it fixed. The exhaust rocker arm had fallen off of the valve and pushrod, but by then it needed a carb too. Ended up having $45 in a practically new fs90 because dad had only used it for a year. Dad gave me his 80 too but I guess that's because I had used it enough mowing yards with him to pay for it several times over lol. Both of mine have loop handles but that 80 should definitely treat you well. Thinking about grinding the mesh part off of that bg55 spark arrestor so I still have stock looking muffler and hopefully will help with the sound some. Will report back to you to let you know how it works.

372xt on the bench for a logger friend. He said it wouldn't pull over anymore. Found a bad con rod bearing and bottom end was as dry as a popcorn fart. He runs 50/1 stihl orange bottle. So I tore it down and put new crank, bearings, seals , and a mild port job. Numbers are 98.5, 116, 78.5. Everything went together smoothly and it fired up on a couple pulls. This morning I went and cut a load of wood with it and all was well. So I tell him to come get it. Whenever he gets here it wouldn't fire for anything. [emoji15] no spark. The coil wire got pinched in between the cover and cylinder and was grounding it out. Replaced it with a new piece of wire and some heat shrink for added insurance. Purrs like a kitten now[emoji2] [emoji2] . Couple pics, forgot to take some of the cylinder before I glued it on...

Tell him thoose Hooskies dnt like stihl mix, husqvarna grey bottle 40:1, it runs well in anything, even Stihl saws appreciate it.;)
How's it going Dustin?? That's exactly what I told him pretty much. Awhile back he brought me a bunch of saws, everyone had bad con rod bearings. I told him back then he needs to switch oil and go to 40/1. I hope he listens this time. He's supposed to check with his local dealer and see what other oil he has.

Another old project that I put away for a few years, I got so far that it start up and runs smooth :D Miss the same parts as all my 362/372's do, the guy I bought a huge batch from strip of the brake flags before he use them, toss them in the bin.

Picked this dirty saw up in the post today. Cleaning, new ring, seals, and the normal stuff they need. It's a keeper!

Just an FYI I cut the mesh out of the cat on that bg55. Went back to normal sounds but don't have to worry with it clogging anymore. Might be a touch louder but not by much, also much more pleasant to use now. Just about 20 seconds with a dremel and your customer won't have any bogging once you get the carb fixed.
