On my bench next is not a chainsaw but an Echo older weedeater which I'm gonna try to make a handheld stump grinder out of. I figure I'll take a bunch of Skillsaw blades and stack them to a thickness of about an inch and see if I can use it to eliminate small tree stumps. It may not work but it's a good way to kill a few hours..

Hold my beer,,,,

Keep us posted on its progress. Sounds like a cool project

Gotta push your filter cover down. Apply pressure forward by the junction of the cover and the rear handle, then push it down more. Just the way some of them are. That lock should sit horizontal and even. I know, OCD, its a tough way to live...

Revived this old girl. Other than the normal cosmetic issues that come with age, this saw is in fantastic mechanical shape. Strong 175 psi @ 5000' and starts on the second pull.

I guess I should have mentioned the model: 264F and the displacement: 61cc

Unfortunately...NO saws on the bench today!
I do however have a Kawasaki 290D engine from a ClubCar buggy on it.
This engine had intermittent spark, then lost it altogether!
The coil tests ok, so we are pointing at the limiter box.
We've also replaced all o-rings & crankcase gasket 2 eliminate the oil leak that's making an awful mess.
The engine bay...

The limiter box at fault..

And the engine nearly back together :)
