@Redfin

Do you need to buy new bolts for reassembly?

Are those models the ones with the new fangled torque to yield fasteners?

Thats the first Ive read this Doc.
Me too. John are you going to work with the stratos? Or gut them?
What did you get for stock numbers?

I have kept the stratos in the couple I have done Dan. This one timed at 106/130/75.

The only bolts you need to replace on those are the aluminum crankcase screws. They're a one time use. The screws come with if you buy bearings, crankshaft or crankcase gasket.

Looks like it was not properly cleaned before the RedKote. I have had some POR come off but not RedKote.

Just make sure you give it plenty of time to cure completely before adding fuel.

Good to know. I had first heard Randy mention something about one time use bolts in the new model to save weight. Wasn't sure where they were. Now I know.

Narrow down airleaks on an 550, sometime dramatic solutions work out best :D

The big bubble test:
_DSC3517.jpg

Went fine, leak around my homemade head gasket, and one leak around one of the vac/pre test kit plugs from Husky.
Gone flush the oil tank after this :D

15psi, its probleby an hour since I started and its down in 11 psi now, Husky recommend 12 psi.
This 550 fail on vacuum, I was interested to figure out where the small leaks where like gaskets, seals, intake, transfer cover and so on, used hours with spraying water and didnt want to waste more time...
I dont worry about the few drops water in the oil tank, eventually its just to buy a little bottle with chemicals so the water will be bound to the oil ;)
