Its a 92 jug their timings isnt like 241A Simon.Whats the results of your measurements on the 42 cylinder Tor ... What do you think you will do ?
Update: I went ahead and bought the saw since it seems it's gonna be more long term than I thought. I installed the new points and condenser and, although it has a nice, hot spark, it still won't run, just popped a little. I'll be messing with the timing tomorrow if I don't get involved with something else..Stihl 041AV, gonna try to get it running again with a new set of points and condenser, wish me luck....Customer's right now but could be mine if I want it..
I don't think so. There used to be a company that did but think they went out of business. I think the name was something like Atom? I bought new points for it and they seem to be working okay, hoping it's just a tuning thing, maybe timing set too far in retard. I'll find out pretty soon, hate to give up on these things!Do they make a solid state ignition replacement for the points and condenser for those saws?

I've had no end of trouble with those carbs over the years lol i just switch the metering spring into Chinese ones now.Got a 180 that seems to have an air leak when it's hot. Did a cold pressure and vacuum test and it passed both. Idle is erratic and when you turn it to it's side the idle drops. Also seems to run away a little. New carb, f/l is fine, new filter, pressure tested the tank and it was fine. Seems mysterious.
It's the C1Q-s57E, bout 99% of the new carbs I have installed have been trouble free. haha One thing is for certain....you get a tad bit of fuel pump gasket stretching and the issues start.I've had no end of trouble with those carbs over the years lol i just switch the metering spring into Chinese ones now.
