I have a 394 I only mill with it because it is so heavy.
I would guess most 394/395 are fueled and oiled and put to work and they live their chainsaw lives in production work or until a service needs that one big tree.
Most probably don't worry about being taken apart by enthusiasts on internet chainsaw sites

Really enjoy working on these old saws. If anyone has a SXLAO cylinder...this one could use one. Its not my saw... another member's here. Came in no spark.. he went no further with it. It'll run as it is though.

I got this lil guy trying to get oiler in to slaber modView attachment 54100
Man I need a bigger phone to type on lol. Its oiling a little better I put an adjustable pump on it took some grinding to have it make full contact. This thing just might only use canola oil because winter blend seems too thick.

If you are careful you can take the pump apart, put a little more ramp on it, and she will move oil then. Be careful, 2-4° makes a big difference in pump out put and you can move more than you want.

I had the pump apart and opened the inlet and outlet holes with a 3/32 bit I'll see how it does cutting and if I have to I'll give it some ramp.
