well my 266 SE just turned up in the mail
at first glance , the serial no tag is missing and feels a bit low on compression
ill put some pics up when this camera will connect to the computer,
has crap compression, and bloody filthy, and then the pull starter cord breaks , not good so far , but did fire up on choke

I'm thinking I may need to name my new 066 "Lucky".

I had not checked the piston because when I pulled the cord it had plenty of compression. But tonight I pulled the muffler to do some mods, and inspected the piston. The back of the cylinder looks just great, but the exhaust side of the piston reflects that it almost succumbed to a heat failure.

Luckily, the rings are free, and the scoring does not go all the way down the piston, nor all the way across the exhaust port, or I would be ripping this baby down. I'm surprised how clean it ran. The other 066 smoked for a few seconds, then cleared up, almost like a ring was temporarily stuck, but this one was just clean as soon as it started. I think it will be OK, and this saw is just going to be my 066 backup, my good one is still in TN.

I really don't think I want it to have more compression than it has! I'm not even gonna check the squish!

You can't delete the gasket on a 660 without cutting squish.

Cleaned off the transfer and took .055" off the base

Roughed in the ports at E 109°, transfers 128°, intake at 74°

I need to get a vid of it cutting. We ran it today and he's really happy. All smiles

So, here are some pics of my new 066 ... an ugly ducking that needs a lot of cleaning, but it runs and really (despite all the dirt) does not seem to be in bad shape.

Needs an oil cap, and the handle. His saw is the last pic, and was a bit cleaner & newer than mine, but both are 066s. His handle was bent pretty good, so I put mine on it and ordered a new one.
