Squish on this thing was HUGE.
.030 solder still didn't touch after a gasket delete.
If it was a Stihl I would sand the base but Husky put those silly lips on the cylinders so you need a lathe :(
Oh well..... will run better than it did now that I also widened the intake and opened up the exhaust port a bit as well as the gasket delete.

I did one 50 and a 257 that i tried to do a gasket delete but the piston hit lol some are tight and some are loose for some reason sometimes those inserts are a pain to find too.

I just got some play toys!!!

Made a deal with the local tree guy. He dropped off 8 dead saws last week. I'm returning 3, all tuned up and running with dp muffs and limiters pull. He gets back two MS460s and an 066. I get to keep 4 - MS460s (one was crushed, all need parts, and none running as of yet). I also get to keep the other 066, and I already got it running! Still needs a handle and oil cap, and is filthy, but hey, I'm stoked!!!

My friend asked me to check the tune on this trash find 371 i built him it looks like crap but it's a horse aftermarket 25.00 big bore kit with cabers no base gasket i think the problem is the chain lol it's not angled correctly I made a dual port for it as well the angels run from 10 to 30 degrees had to be real shaky i will clean it up. 1484594737672-342761076.jpg 1484594817711949225757.jpg

So, here are some pics of my new 066 ... an ugly ducking that needs a lot of cleaning, but it runs and really (despite all the dirt) does not seem to be in bad shape.

Needs an oil cap, and the handle. His saw is the last pic, and was a bit cleaner & newer than mine, but both are 066s. His handle was bent pretty good, so I put mine on it and ordered a new one.

So, I got a few questions since I'm not really up on 066s.

Do they have unlimited coils, or how do I know which it has?

Any major changes going from 066 to 660, and when did that happen?

If I'm reading the date codes correctly (they are different than 460s), I think the 066 I fixed was mfg in 2010, and the one I have in 2007. I think 460s show the month & year and 066s show the week & year on the label in the handle.

Almost 20% more displacement than a 460, wow, that is a big difference!

and got to pull start the saw , it fire on choke and then the pull rope breaks
hope this isnt the start of a not good friend ship with me and the saw
