Got an MS390 on the bench today. I sold one last evening so am building up another one to take its place. I've been fighting with the aftermarket carb (choke plate sticky) and it's tuning a bit weird but I did cut a few cookies with it just before quitting for the day.
bit tight maybe

I had the plate completely off a few times, shaved it a bit but finally tightened the spring another wrap and that seemed to help. Have the H about 2.5 turns out to get it to run right.
2 1/2 turns out seems alot , but if thats where it runs the best , ya dont have much choice
some of those AM carbs can be a pain

If the tune gets to driving you nuts you may try a metering spring from an old carburetor, this seems to be one thing that does not get replicated perfectly.

I ended up buying a full tank handle from him as the one I have is seperatingbar the seam at the rear.

I didn't have to but I want to make it a good backup saw for my brother who only has an 044.
Helps to have a saw to cut yourself out with if you jam the bar
