I got this one to fix for myself, and have had it for over a year. It just has 20 hours on the clock........and a failed PTO bearing.

Today I shipped 8 saws out......and decided to fix this one before I lose it in the clutter. Runs real nice.

How ....Just How can a bearing go with such low hrs ..:( We are talking well known precision parts that in my humble opinion should not fail so soon. In your repair Randy, was there any clue as to what could have gone wrong that early in the saws life ?

I hope your not referring to my 660 as "clutter". I prefer to think of it more like a "trip hazard", as it's too heavy to put on a shelf after using it all day. :)

that sucks Randy.
12 hours is almost like no run time.
The record I've heard for 550 is 12 minute, both bearings blasted lol
To be honest, there is something wrong with the interne control system to SKF.
Can you remember those 242 slacker PTO bearings? They where the traditional metal ball cage style, they could survive a war, same bearing used on 44/444, we all know they where work horses.
I really dont understand why Husky still continue with this plastic *s-word in their bearings....

Husky 353, doing a pressure check, and found a leak between the case and the seal outer ring, right where the awl is pointing. Must be a scratch in the case.

Going to replace the seal and check it out, but what would you guys use to seal this? I have 3 Bond, Loctite, etc.
