it keeps you young randy395XP rebuild, MS261 for port grinding, and finishing a 359 muffler....
I never planned on being this busy when I was in my 50s. lol
Noticing that the 394 and 288 share the same crank, makes me wonder the obvious, can a 394 cylinder be installed on a 288 crankcase? Anybody ever try such a thing? If so what did it take to make it fit?

@Mastermind Would/could you be so kind as to measure the outside of the round base of that 395 cylinder, the part that sticks down into the case. So I can either get this out of my head, or go buy a cylinder to try it out. SS
I sure can good sir. Gotta go play farmer for an hour or so first though....

My bench has been full of top handles, I am getting to really hate them.

Diameter of the extension is 2.398"
It protrudes into the case .193"
@Mastermind , 288 case hole measures 2.360" so this may be in the realm of possibility's. Will have to either search out the ever elusive 394 cylinder or go whole hog and find a 395. The pea in my cranium is rolling around pretty fast right about now. LOL
Either jug is just fine.......intake block on the 394, boot on the 395. So pick the one that will work best for the application.
I would imagine that the 394 jug with the block would be closer since the 288 also used a block?
