I am on the bench - so to speak! :(

Accidentally poured boiling water over my left foot - boiled the skin straight off right bellow the ankle.

Still have some of my own firewood logs to cut.
I was also supposed to go help cut a coworkers firewood and cut numerous high stumps that he got permission from the Forestry to harvest in a nearby forest.
Currently I am not able to wear a sock over my foot for a prolonged period of time, lest a shoe. surrender.gif

242's is interesting saws, my 89 project is simple, lift the transfers & exhaust port back to stock timings after I removed the gasket, and a few other things as well.
89 belong to the first 242's, later they came with the 242 xp, the most interesting about those 2 types is the difference in transfer timings flywheel side vs PTO side.
First I thought to go as close I could to the xp design, but as more I study the differences.....I think it's best to stay with the sg design, take the gain I get with my easy modds and not take the gamble.

Here is a few pictures for those who like pics!

me too, most what I ordered is just small things, is 4-5 things I need before I can continue with any of my projects, the rest is more future things.

Worst part is you start on another waiting for parts for the first, then a third next thing you know you have four saws torn apart and no parts!

lol ya, or you stop by them and pick up a couple project saws so you have something to do while you wait for parts!

2007 385 XP in for its first bit of service since new. Guy heats with wood and cuts 5+ cord a year. Piston skirts were pretty thin so it is getting a new slug and the Tilly is getting a kit. Pretty amazing how good the factory ports were on these.

Tell you guys what surprised me the most was how warped the exhaust flange was. You can see in the pictures where I filed it, took probably 15 minutes with a good file to get it flat.
