Not on the bench but, I finished this up the day b4 I left for the TN GTG. Rotted in half right above the axle where the air bags mounted. It had been getting bad for a long time. I had picked up a real nice frame last spring and just didn't get around to it over the summer.
I'll get right on that next week. Y'all been there.

Good to go for haulin wood again.

No deer here, for non res. PA hunting at it's finest.
I'm looking for some good n. eastern coyote lands, in PA.
Welcome to America!
The saws are now taking a backseat view...

I didn't get out in the early Archery season and bailed on the gun season. Going to hit it hard after Christmas!

Was taking a peek at this dirty girl today to kinda see what was needed for this 288XP project. First I noticed(besides the obvious dirt) that there was no decompression valve where that little hole in the cover is. Hmmmm. Tugged on the starter, locked up solid. Wiped the gunk off the metal tag, there was my answer, it's not a 288XP at all, but a 1987 281XP, that evidently someone threw a 288XP cover on. So, I took out the spark plug and squirted in some of my miracle juice, and returned it out side to sit a spell longer, while cypher on it a spell. I really could use an 88. Think I need to go to plan #2c on this...

Hmmmm, it's hard to resist not swapping choke&throttle shaft. I think my 242's may like the bigger venturi those 346 carbs has.

What you got going on there Mike?

Hey Mike,

I got that saw for doing a couple of 365 cyls for Genius back in August. Had a broken case half and a leaking tank.

I have a pile of aluminum that came with it that it didn't need now.

I may have to find a tank for it yet.

Not on my bench..but a bit of a story.
Cut some firewood last weekend. Older gentleman showed up...by older, I mean a spry 81 years old..lol.
I was working on cutting some of the bigger maple/spruce/alder/myrtle with my 395, whose is fairly loud.
He starts up his ms440, and I can hear it drown out my saw while I'm cutting with it!! Lol. Jokingly, Asked him a little bit later if the muffler was just for show..then he tipped his saw up and said the baffle was blown out and I could hear screws rattling around in the muffler. Told him I'd be happy to pull his muffler, and see if I could secure the screws before one happened to get ingested.
He declined and kept on cutting...I was just gritting my teeth waiting for it to grenade....I'm fairly certain that muffler was not attached to the cylinder at all...just bolted on the lower side to the case!!
