OEM specified. Permatex® Ultra silicones were developed to meet today’s technology changes. Sensor-safe, low odor, noncorrosive. Outstanding oil resistance and joint movement tolerance. Eight times more flexible than cork/composite gaskets; three times more oil resistant than conventional silicones. Temperature range -65ºF to 500ºF (-54°C to 260°C) intermittent; resists auto and shop fluids and vibration.

That is some great information, thanks! Is that good for base gaskets also?

Picked up a $20 12 gallon craftsman compressor off of FB. Said it didn't work...tore into it..had a loose neutral connection at the motor windings, which heated up and broke. Re-connected and put back together...cheapie...but runs like a champ. Finally have a compressor to blow off some saws :)

Took the transfer port covers off the 365 and removed the divider in those, also took the divider out of the intake both sides.
There was not a divider in the carb as I have seen in other posts.
Removed some material off the base of the jug, the part in front of the transfers.
Not a bad saw to work on, now I need to do a MM.
This 365 came with a full wrap and big douple dogs and catcher I havent seen that b4.
You never know what you get used.

Thats funny I got one from my bro and he said sometimes it would not start just buzz,, I could never find anything wrong with it.
Bro found out later he had a bad connection under his mobile home, guess the big startup draw would cause it to arc.
He did buy a new one so I got this one.

I would do a press/vacc test while your at it. Fresh 40:1
I already pulled the jug unfortunately. :( But it's custom to replace crank seals on any rebuild I do. Even if if did hold pressure. Cleaned it up best I could and everything looked pretty good. The piston was smoked, looked mainly from the water in the fuel. Plenty of mix, but plenty of water to cause issues. Not to mention the dust. But things got pretty warm in there.

Very intresting to see these diagnostic logs. I think the idle setting is outside the optimal green line, because of the compensating function of the carb. Normally with that clogged air filter and without compensating carb the fuel setting should go down because the mixture would be to rich. But with the compensating function, there comes less fuel in the carb, because the metering diaghpram can`t push the normal way on the inlet control lever and that is why less fuel comes in the carburetor. (The inlet needle doesn`t open so much)

It would be also very intresting to see the comparison of the fuel settings from a saw in stock form, muffler modded and fully ported.

Very good post X 66 stang347 X :number_one:

I've had a few 362's that wouldn't idle and after trying several things I finally had to adjust the throttle plate some. That's not easy but it worked.

i put an ms201tc on the mdg after i opened the muffler and advanced the ignition timing....the fuel values didn't change hardly at all from stock. id like to see one logged after being ported.
