I sure miss my days living in New Bern, NC stationed at MCAS Cherry Point back in the 80's/early 90's, in the Corps. Talk about some damn fine pulled pork and slaw...just make ya wanna eat til your belly popped. My friend @Landmark knows that Carolina deal.
Yes love the Carolinas. Sweet tea, and fine food. You can visit and get some bbq anytime. Some of the best i had was in Chapel Hill.

Busting this chunk apple wood down for my smokers is a chore. Me and Anheuser Busch gonna see the end of it though that's for damn sher. Apple wood is tougher than woodpecker lips to split down to size.

I liked it, but you gotta get up off the floor man! I'm 38 and I would be doing that at the bench sitting on a stool. Just saying!

When my son was born at Craven Regional Med Ctr in New Bern, 8 months later we had to take him to Chapel Hill at UNC so he could have a bigtime surgery...his inominal artery was wrapped around his windpipe and choking him at the rate he and his little body was growing. An absolute contributor to SIDS if gone unchecked.

We were in Chapel Hill for almost two weeks throughout his surgery and ate at several pork joints...just fine Q in the Chapel Hill area. The New Bern area has some damn good joints too.

Oh thank goodness! My knees were hurting thinking of this project.
I may not do it every time, but I do like to work smarter not harder when dealing with stuff, lol. I'm 49...my ol' knees ain't the same anymore. My left knee ain't so good anymore, has its times no doubt...took a round through it in combat yrs ago...he'll be a rebuild project before it's over.

I should clarify...I didn't take the whole round in my left knee...just shreds of the round as it glanced off a wall in front of me. May as well been the whole round...hurt like a MF'r and bled like a stuck hog. But I/we carried on and wiped their asses off the planet. Was a good day young man.

My right knee was reconstructed at age 19 and I learned quick not to kneel anytime!

THANK YOU!
Don't you fret young man, and I appreciate your comment...there's plenty of bad ass Marine Force Recon, SEALS, Army Rangers, and Air Force Special Ops to handle our problems now. A lot of times over the yrs I miss the 'thrill'...It's a head rush straight outta pure hell. Once ya get it, it gets inside of you. And all ya wanna do is go on the hunt!

I'm glad for you young man on this forum, as well as so many other young men who are here now. This site will be so much better with young minds like yours and your input.

On the muffler bolts how does the serrations look? I usually dig the metal out of them or replace them if their worn. Could be your problem but Maybe not.

I replaced the two lower ones last time, with new OEM & loctite!!!!!!! One of them was missing this time!

(guess I forgot to hit the post button)

Eastern or western NC style?

I grew up in Oak Ridge NC and now live in Clayton. Two distinct types of pork BBQ in the state. I'm more of an eastern fan these days but I won't discriminate. Bunn's in Windsor NC is top notch.

Something some local guys put together...

Im not a fan of Eastern style bbq. Got to have sauce not vinegar.

I been to Clayton several time. Used to be on a radio station there until this year.
