Yes, it was aftermarket. I don't know what brand. All parts were bought by someone else and given to me to put together. Saw has been in use at a tree service for a few years now. Piston still looked new on exhaust side a month ago.

Mark I got a meteor out in the shop with damage on the ext side only I will get pic,s in a few.

Coulda been straight fueled? Thats why I like the Red Armor oil. U can definetely tell its mixed. Its red!!

That is what I recommend for him to use but I don't think he has yet .

I hadnt used Echo Powerblend but Ive been curious as if its about the same as RA without as many detergeants and the dye?

I have not tryed the power blend I was very impressed with the RA so I have stuck with it.

Hey Keith Harbor Freight has a set that has worked quite well. Glock37 has it andI know we have used it on probably a dozen bearings so far. Always a 20% off coupon available.

I have that set Dan. One thing to be sure of is the bevel is under the bearing. I didnt know I had squeezed the race and the bevel wasnt underneath and when I hit it with the impact the bearing exploded into pieces all over the shop!! Luckily I was wearing safety glasses! Wont take but one time to remember that one!!

Man after that bearing exploded Im very cautious now! I usually drive the bearing away from the crank with a chisel a tad then put the puller on as to make sure the bevel is underneath. Im tellin u fellows that was serious that day when that thing exploded! Scared the crap out of me and I wont forget it

Got this put together this afternoon. Haven't modified anything on it yet except a base gasket delete (.036 squish).

Still need a top cover and a few small parts but it runs and cuts well.

Yeah it's really clean. I got it with no top end pretty sure it was a warranty saw (tag has been removed). It has very few hours on it. Guy said that the cylinder was bad but there wasn't a mark on the piston. Was missing a handful of other parts but it was an easy project.

Gonna run it against my 353 and shinny 488 just for the heck of it.
