Three horse Briggs & Stratton for my old wood splitter. Salvaged a block from a cement finisher, then put everything else on it from the old blown wood splitter motor to make it all work. Had a different style of flywheel magnet and would not spark until I changed flywheels. Had the exhaust valve sticking from a too long of bolt protruding through the new crankcase cover. Once I figured everything out, it started up in a couple of pulls just on the floor and idled right along.

Picked it up for $25. No compression, but in really low hour shape.

Well, that would explain the lack of compression.

Picked up an OEM kit from my dealer for $100.
Did a good cleaning, installed the new kit, added some fresh 40:1, and it burped on the 3rd pull with the choke set, and fired right off without choke.

That thing cleaned up damn near to brand new.

The only real blemishes are the chunk missing from the front of the O/P lever, and the lame silver water color paint they use on the clutch cover.

Not yet. Over the hills and through the woods....maybe tomorrow. I ported a 350 and want to run it against this jug to compare. And then I'll try and find a junker to put the ported 346 jug onto and compare again

Should just pick up a few new parts.
They figured out that they wanted to empty their section of used parts, and a few projects, price was right and my car was full.
