Got this quite cheap, around 120$, work was mostly to swap crankcase, invested in new seals, gasket kit, while I had it apart I removed a bit casting on p&c, it's a starter now :)

Left to fix the wire from the fronthandle and test if the heathed system work, and yes, I need to remove the handle again since I forgot one vital piece plastic lol

The whole xpg system those 5xx serie saws use is the best system I've ever seen from Husky.

I was thinking to myself today that I would really like to get my hands on one of these. I tried finding out how much in Canada and Husqvarna doesn't even list it as available, 562XPWG is the smallest heated handle listed.

they have campaigns on them in Norway nowadays, but they are probleby very pricey compared to how much your guys pay for 550 in US, plus shipping.

I'm in Canada so our prices are higher than U.S. and out dollar is worth less ( about $0.76USD to $1.00CDN).

Here a 550XP list for $789.99CDN or about $550Euro.

A 550 xp is $1449. 00 here and our dollar is the same as CAN dollar [emoji1360]
The fact it's $100 cheaper than the ms261 is why it's so high I guess.

550XPG cost 780 Euro or about 855 US $, that is campaigns price in Norway :(

It look like it would be cheaper for you to go the route with one 550 + new front handle, and let me dig up the other xpg parts as used parts.
The only bad thing with that idea is that none of my dealers has any parts at the moment

Thanks for your offer but I can probably source one for less from the States than piecing one together.

Same 353 that was here ever so briefly two weeks ago. Changed the fuel line and filter while the guy waited, as he had already diagnosed the problem. As soon as I had finished putting it together off he ran with it, saying no time to give it a try. As he sped off, I said to myself, see ya soon. Well here it is again, new orders are to rebuild the carburetor and install new air filter.

MS360 in for a chain sharpening and a check up. Was the first saw I built a few years ago and sold. Was straight gassed shortly after and a new Meteor top end put on. Still runs as good as the day it left here. Nice to see one of the "kids" come home for a bit.

To show folks what you are talking about. Seeing this with OEM poulan line and 1100 line.

I JUST had to fix that on mine last weekend! I thought I was going crazy, never seen anything like it before. Now I am having trouble getting the proper amount of "free play" in the line inside the tank...the clunker is on the bottom of the tank, but I feel if I give it more line to slide to one side that it doesn't slide back over then. How much line do you usually give it? Never had this issue with many other saws, the tank on this one has a funny "step" in it that seems to keep the filter from moving from side to side freely.

Found a dealer in BC online $869 for the 550XPG.
BBB

That's a pretty good price. I will have to check the larger local dealer and see what they say.

Having not bought anything from them locally I might be better off getting one online from a site member. I travel to the States often enough that shipping isn't much of an issue.

346 project saw that showed up today. This thing is really clean not sure what the story is other than the guy said it had a cylinder failure. No tag so I think it was a warranty deal.

It has had very little run time and zero scoring on the piston. No cylinder or top cover but most everything else is there.

I have a busted up cylinder to throw on it and play around with. I planned to save it for a winter project but I'm not sure I can wait!
