That’s a lot of dead blowers 😳

Well, two sprayers were broke where about a 2 inch round by 1/4 steel ring snap in to the bottom of the back plate to hold the strap . Stihl makes a kit to repair that. Another was broken where the top strap goes through and has about a 1/4 inch straight steel rod that snaps under two hooks. Those sprayers take a beating. One sprayer the control valve in the handle was stopped up with some nasty crud. One of the plain BR600's needed a carb.
Most of the rest of it was just won't crank. Either flooded or not pulled enough. MS661 needs helicoils or timeserts in muffler holes. HT135 needs a shaft bearing. I hate those things.

is the choke rod all there, or is it missing some sort of knob?
It appears your choke rod is complete:

There are other documents for the 070 which is just about the same thing that has a knob on it's choke, possibly same as 080 and 090 too.

There is a thread on the forum which has links to the service manual and the IPL (in German).

I am taking a few minutes away from the workbench to work at my computer drawing out a crankcase gasket for my Husky 55. Once I get this done and cut out on the Cricut I can work on getting that saw together. I also need to draw one out of for a 365/372 as I have one of each of those that will need one. Once I get it all blocked out, then I will go back and round off all of the corners.

About 40 minutes later I have finished with my first draft. I will cut this out on regular printer paper first and do a test fit. I will make any adjustments to the drawing needed and then to a test cut on card stock. If all is well, then I can start cutting this on gasket material, if not, then I make whatever adjustments are needed and retest.

What are you doing the cutting with? I've been fooling around with Fusion the last couple months, reproducing some of the gaskets for these old saws would be a great use for it.

I use the Cricut Maker, for cutting out my test paper and card stock gaskets, I use the small blade, however when it comes to cutting gasket material I have to use the larger blade. It takes about 7 passes to fully cut through the gasket material, but only takes a few minutes all together. It ends with nice clean cuts and is quite accurate even with small stuff. I did some Zama carb gaskets and it cut the little locator holes without any issue.

550 mk 2 stripped down. I don’t have to split the case on this one and I don’t have a splitter for the 5 series. Any good aftermarket tools or secret methods to split a 5 series case?

Follow up - crank splitter

I whipped up a quick technical drawing on some bolts to use with a Lilse steering wheel puller. My wife works at a machine shop and they did me a favor. Going to test it out shortly.
