Farmertec 440 kit saw I threw together to donate to a Bible camp north of me. They got sacked with a recent ice storm, so hopefully it can be of use. The 50mm jug it came with was junk. Thankfully I had a decent FT big bore jug that had good transfers. I machined and ported it….101/121/78. All the usual mods…gobs of torque and pretty good rpm too (cutting at 10.5-10.8K under full load.IMG_9238.jpegIMG_9239.jpegIMG_9240.jpeg

These two go back to the same tree service. The 2100 needed serious cleaning from being stored under a house since the Civil War and some minor repairs, the 346 got a carb kit. image.jpg
I just finished running this 030. It was rusted up some inside but after much flushing it seems to run fine. Such a smooth little saw.
The 143 got a new carburetor. Thank God, I thought it might be a case leak because of the way it was acting. I finished building the saw over a year ago and knew the carb had some throttle shaft wear but I didn’t have another carb. The idle would creep up as the saw warmed and it acted squirrelly in other ways too. Shane sent me another carb and I finally got around to building it. It fixed it!

How's the 143 feel power wise compared to other 95cc saws? I wonder how much is to be gained porting it? Nice saw!
I love the 143 so that makes me biased. I have not run the Husqvarna 95’s, but I have run many others and it compares favorably with all of them. It is a very powerful saw. It operates at a lower rpm because of the governor in the carb. but can be tuned up if you block that. In fact this carb had a plug instead of the governor from the factory and I tuned this to 12,500 rpm. Still seems a little fat but that’s ok. It pulls square ground chain with authority , sounds good, good AV’s. Like I said I’m biased . Lol
I have three or four of them if you’d like to try one😃.

It’s actually a Low Wall. 1885 Winchester. 25-20SS . I’ve had it for decades. You could not push a coat hanger thru the bore. I’ve been informed it could be repurposed somewhere out west and converted to a more modern caliber. Maybe someday. image.jpg

Redmans used to be strong in that department, but they have not updated their site since 2019. Don't know what that means.
I had a local smith reline a 22 a few years back. Got the liner from Brownells I'm sure. Not sure whether you can rent the drill bits or not.
Somebody who has and knows how to use a lathe, which does not include me, could probably do it. There are You Tube videos like everything else.

Thanks for the detailed reply. Sounds like a really nice saw. I've been keeping my eye out for one that needs work. So please, don't tempt me! LOL. I've got to stop buying saws till I clear out the ones I don't need to make room for the ones I don't need, but want. I'll keep you in mind when the time comes.

I just came in from running the 143 and was reminded of what I think is the best part of this saw. It’s really nimble for a 95cc saw. It’s way smaller than a 395, smaller than an 066 and I believe had it arrived on the scene in the PNW a few years earlier it may have become a “legendary “ saw. The other thing was that while it’s certainly possible to stall any saw in the cut, this saw with the 7 pin sprocket is pretty hard to stall with a 25” bar. I believe it will run the 36” bars with authority. Sexy too.
