image.jpeg image.jpeg Eric's saw almost back in business.

This saw went from a brass worm gear to the plastic drum driven one.

Does anyone know if the large washer behibd the clutch goes on with both styles of oilers?

I installed it.

Just picked up this bag of parts for mine. Gaskets, seals, bearings, piston, and various bits that were broken or missing. I was surprised by what was still available.

Same Hear.

There is a local guy I work with. Known him for years. He has one, fact is he has one of every Stihl model that starts with a zero. He use to compete in the fair every year. You had to make 3 cuts in 4 inches of oak. He never could run the saw, it kept pushing him out of the wood. He raced two stroke bikes and had the same guy that worked over his bikes do him a 090 cylinder.

Thanks for the opportunity to remember this, I just found me something to do.

This reminded me of my chain saw history. It was 1998 and all I knew of chain saws was a 026 and a 029 super. Them two saws cut a whole lot of wood. My friend was helping me take down three chestnut trees in my yard. We were both working third shift and met up after work. I remember that 090 drowning the 026 out and put 3 or 4 pieces of wood on the ground to my one. Lol!

I quit cutting and just started loading the truck and trailer. What he cut in 45 minutes took me three morning to haul off.

My my! How times have changed!
