Picked up this non-running Lawnboy, with a suspected bad coil.
Started by giving the mower a bit of a cleanup as it was rather dirty oil soaked.
Replaced the coil with a used one that was saved from a piston/cylinder scored mower.
After reassembly it started on the 3rd pull. Noticed right away that it was spitting dirty oil spots from the lower crank seal area..
Found that someone had previously replaced the seal with the wrong style and it had ejected itself.
Had the right dual lipped one with the steel outer case in my spare parts supply and did the swap.
While the muffler cover was off to get to the seal for replacement, cleaned the exhaust ports . One was about 20% carboned and the other two had smaller amounts.
Back to seeming to be a great running mower.
I like this series partly because it has a metal carb that has an external fuel adjustment needle screw.
