I have used aftermarket 372 cases before, but not lately and will not in the future. Seemed too porous, breaking easily at inner spike bolts. If you need a clutch side half, I have a used one.
The first one I tried to use had voids in the metal that were painted over. I found them when I pressure tested. Never touched another one. They might be better now. Or not.

Just curious, how long ago was that? I used a PTO side AM case to repair an X-torque last year and the saw is still running. It is used by a local tree service, but I don't believe it is a primary saw fwiw.

I don't need one. I was just wondering about the quality. On this one you're working on now....is the crank undersize, or is the bearing wallered out?

So.....like the rest of the Chinese aftermarket garbage. Sad.

Bearing looks bad, probably would have worked if they had used sleeve locker. I have a spare crank if needed, ordering parts now. Pretty complete saw, compared to what he usually sends. Getting tired of cleaning dirty saws, you know all about that.

Gonna make a nice saw for you. I have MS400s on my bench.

A couple months back I ported a brandy new MS362 for a member on this site. When I did the initial test cuts it seemed a little lean after it got warmed up. I figured the m-Tronic would take care of things so I sent the saw on its way. Well…the m-Tronic didn’t or couldn’t compensate for my port work. So I had the saw sent back. I took the carb apart and found the opening in the seat was only 0.023”. The feed holes for the solenoid and the main nozzle were ~ 0.045”. As a first step, I drilled the seat out to 0.033”. I just ran a tank through the saw and it seems to have fixed the issue. I will probably run another tank just to be sure, but figured I would post here in case others have had similar issues. 744092E8-A56D-4FC7-8126-4278457EF462.jpeg8C545158-B868-4CB9-A85D-1231F9CE6544.jpeg
