Here's the ol' 038 AV Mag II sporting the new bar from @trooney. No chains for it yet, but I believe one of my brothers has a couple of new RS chains for it, which will work out just fine...he's owes me a little jingle anyhow. I'll be phoning him this evening no doubt.

Sharp looking saw
Thanks my man...When the bar arrived, I cleaned the power head up a little as well as the 261 C-M, and the Husky 55. I used the Husky 55 and the 261 a couple of weeks ago and never kinda cleaned them, wiped them down. I just like to get the *s-word off my saws. Probably the Marine Corps side of me coming out. I like things that I have a vested dollar in, looking good.

Attacked the after market MS260 air filter on my 026.

When I split the filter it was full of fines that had been sucking in the seam where the 2 halves are supposed to join.

I also noted that there is a very restrictive plastic ridge that runs across the length of the filter to separate the top section where the intelicarb port goes in.
That leave almost all of the air the saw sucks needing to try and make itsvway around this or just pull through the little bit of filter area the base.

That's crap.

I ground out most of the plastic ridge, put the no intelicarb top back on the 194 carb and sealed up the intelicarb hole and edges of the filter with oil resistant silicone.

I also put the OEM choke lever from an old filter in the after market nylon one as is looks to leave more of an opening

Worst part is that I need to let the silicon set before I can fit it up and test

They belong to a local tree guy. He's insanely reckless and his employees follow suite. We fixed the pole saw...he gave me the 661. Anytime he comes in I stop what I'm doing and he gets service. He brought it in last week with the handle all smashed over...I took it apart and had my mechanic bend the handle back so it was usable and the chain brake would unlock. I ordered him an av spring that was broke...he brought it back yesterday like this.

You gonna rebuild the 661?

Probably not. The crank halves are junk. I'll sit on the parts for a while though and see if anything else comes along. This tree guy will destroy another one soon enough. This one was less than a year old.
