It wasn’t logged if there was. Another thing. Logbooks must be kept on the engine, airframe and propeller. The books stay with the airplane, engine, prop. Repairs and maintenance are recorded there. An airplane without logbooks is worth half what it would be with them. Real important.

Well if its still got good compression, sounds like a good candidate for a VW bug swap!
Tell him ill give him scrap "top" price for it, I'll have Scarr weld it for me.

Some 365 cranks.
On the left a 97 365NSP. Chamfered, un-drilled little end.
On the right an 06 365SP. Square shouldered, cross-drilled.
97 crank is being used regardless, little end bearing is interchangeable, but I thought the part change was interesting.

Is this an unusual thing to see on that model? I'm just trying to make sense of the possibility of a 60K repair on a 90K airplane.
It is unusual for sure. Oh, he’s got more than 90k in avionics alone. He’s throwing a new interior in it (or was) and is planning paint.

I just checked out some used planes on the Googles. I have no idea of the real value. So it's worth fixing then....

What is this? Actually, it’s cut from a Budweiser can and I fished it out of the tank on the 075. Anybody know why it was put there? View attachment 320947

My guess would be that someone used it on a oil or fuel bottle for a seal, and it wound up in the tank accidentally.

Some old fuel tank cap had a disk in the cap instead of a duckbill valve, could be that? Home made.
I thought the same. It’s too big. Real close though. image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg
It seems too big to snap in, maybe wedged in or something. You’re probably right @Maintenance Chief , I can’t think of anything else besides the cap seal. Which is not a bad idea if you think about it.

Caught up with customer saws, time to start my own. 262 and 288.
288 is getting bearings/seals and ring, plus whatever minor details else it needs.
262 is missing quite a few parts so not sure yet if anything is gonna happen with it yet.

The past few days had a few quick projects hit the bench. I bought a new raker file a few weeks ago and it came as part of a "kit" with an Oregon raker gauge. I like the gauge but I wished it had the bar groove scraper like the Stihl version so I spent a few minutes with a grinder and ground one end into a scraper. A week or so ago a buddy gave me his blower to fix, "died and won't restart". I freakin hate CAT mufflers. I ordered a new piston and it looks like I'll need a new cylinder too, I cleaned the hell out of it but it still has some rough areas where the plating is f-ed. Tonight I trimmed down some longer mounting bolts for the new-to-it Pro Safety wrap and got my brother's 281 off the bench, and I turned a cracked 395 cylinder into a pen jar. Now I just need a shorter cylinder for the stubby pencils.....

Great idea using the old cylider as a pen holder.
