Little rainy day project. Got it cleaned up and running. Just need a chain. I dont have any .325 .058 guage.
Have a air filter cover on its way. This ones cracked and has a hole covered with tape.
Think this will be my new truck saw for now.

Checked out a buddy's fs85, it's the same guy who owns the 51. He wants to get it running again. I have a carb and a fuel cap on order. It's also getting fuel lines, filter, plug and air filter blown out.

All right I’m a little miffed. I’m going to vent little bit here. Unfortunately I have another TS420 to rebuild. So I called HL supply to order another cross performance top end, salesman said they were out of stock. I made him look at this post.

I’m rebuilding a TS420 for a friend. Case split, new OEM bearings, seals and gaskets. I have used a few of the cross performance top ends in the past and they are very good quality. This one was still in the shrink wrap when I opened the box.

Something missing? I can’t believe I didn’t catch it until this point

I told them if they were out of stock because the rest of them didn’t have spark plug holes that it wouldn’t be an issue. He then again insisted that they didn’t have any. He said he could sell me a Hyway or Meteor top end.

I asked a reasonable question (3 times) if I could have some form of a discount given what I had to do to the last kit. He finally gave in and offered me $10 off my purchase. I think that’s a bunch of BS.

evidently my time and machine work aren’t worth very much at all. Pffffffttt

To those of you who are anxiously awaiting seeing my cabinets.... Soon young hoppers of grass. I need to get the drywall out of my lungs first...

Not a whole helluva lot but I did do a little bit. Getting into winterizing mode at work so I'm beat by the time I get home.

Last night I got the new primer bulb on the Lawn Boy. All set and ready to use. Used it this evening.

This evening I did the first service on my Liberty Z, changed the oil and filter, checked and set tire pressure as needed and greased it.

I also installed a new carb on a customer 25cc Craftsman backpack blower, runs great now.

Just finished up the 038 Mag. Powder coated case, triple ported muffler, NOS piston, NOS tank, full wrap, BG delete, etc. Running a 28" bar with 3/8" chain for now, but will normally run a 22" or 24" bar.

Had planned to sell it, but can't do it. Gonna sell a cosmetically challenged 044 instead.

Mufflers, 1 on, 2 to go. Also did a baffling repair so this oil cooler stays in position. (It had actually broken completely away, being held by its two hoses and that’s all) View attachment 311434View attachment 311435
Is that a date code '78' on the engine oil cooler Jim? So that plane is actually 43 years old. Nice, Keep up the good work!
