We have plans of having 2" well driven, tested and capped for shtf type situations. Picture pump at the ready. Toting water better than no water lol.
I live in a small sub division just outside town. So my neighbors aren't too far away. The one I'm friends with let me come and fill my camping water tote full. I think it was like 7 gallons. That was enough for the wife to flush a couple times and boil some water for dishes... The boys and I, well we just peed outside. Nothing new for any of us tho I suppose.

If I lived out in the middle of no where, with no stream access. That might not be a bad idea, probably far less to do two the same day?

Got myself a retired logging 660 to fiddle with.

Exhaust looks pretty dirty. Piston rings were sticking a bit. Low compression.

Cleaned up the piston ring grooves, applied oil, put everything back together.

Now there is some compression.

Added Red Max true fuel

Started saw, did some piss revving then saw died.

Pulled rope, flywheel just spun.

Took flywheel off. Sheared off flywheel key.

Found another key from other parts saw.

Reassembled, started up again.

Runs good. Will have to see how the saw cuts in wood.

Might still need a full tear down with a new piston and cylinder but maybe it’s just the oil the guys use which I’m not a fan of for saws.

Back to the bench. So i had already had this together prior to the case work. So no step by step. Installed a new Tilly supplied by owner. Installed a new OEM fuel line. Motosealed in fuel line too. Tweaked the throttle rod a lil to take up some trigger slop, wasnt hitting WOT either. image.jpgimage.jpg

When I lost my well pump my next door neighbor let me connect to his hose (use a washing machine double female to go hose to hose).

My well had to be re drilled and was down for over a week, but with the hose connected we could take showers and live a normal life.

Well, the possessed 350 should be leaving my bench! It wouldn't start and just kept flooding the last time I touched it, so I started with the basics. After confirming it had spark, I pulled the plug and lo and behold! A bit of crud had bridged the plug gap. :eusa_doh:"Doh!" Once I knocked it out the saw fired up first pull and runs like a champ now. If the guy's trimmer also works well when I fire it up (tomorrow, I hope) I'll see if I can't return the stuff to him Sunday afternoon.

My machine that I built came home tonight after being in storage at a farm for several years. Everyone including myself got so busy that the dyno kind of got forgotten.

It just needs a little degreasing to clean up but other than that, it’s in perfect condition.

I built it for my buddies that do small engine repairs and do chainsaw modifications.

But their work eventually became more power sports than lawnmowers and chainsaws so a lot of stuff got changed over to that.

So now the machine is in my garage for me to use.

Brilliant!

My neighbors are over 100 yards away, but in a pinch...
