An Old 1984 Johnson 70hp Triple

Only year that they used that grey paint. Anniversary color or something like that. Good luck on the rebuild. Careful on the water jacket bolts. They are common to snap on removal.

Solid performers and all around good motors. We have a old cutaway display sitting in our shop above some of our manuals.

Buddys 450. I forgot to leak test before tear down. Exhaust is only a scratch. Intake is pretty trashed. I’m assuming new piston? Cylinder should clean up. I’ve never seen one real bad on intake and not exh. Intake leak? Saw is a ‘17, seems early for boot to fail. Straight gas?

halp, I need a piston!

It’s usually straight gas that causes it on the intake side

Got the core plug sealed up the other day on the PS6400 carburetor with some Damon Red Kote per the recommendation of @Stevetheboatguy . Letting it set up until the weekend. Hopefully it'll idle now. If not, it's getting a new carburetor.

Got my 201tc back together. Replaced the broken handle using all original linkages. I could do it in my sleep now. Had to figure out how it all went together since the guts spilled out when I took the handle cover off. Also a new filter and cover. She's blowin smoke again. :D

Took my 440 apart. P&C are good. It was partially locking up when using the starter. I'll dig deeper into the bottom end soon. Cold and damp out today. My body doesn't like standing on concrete on days like this. No heat in the garage yet.

DR Trimmer Mower, came in for an oil leak, he thought it was the crank seal but it turned out to be the oil drain plug. Drained the oil overnight, cleaned the plug and block with brake cleaner and sealed the plug with liquid teflon. Filled with fresh oil. During test run the belt kept coming off when the head was disengaged. Found a missing belt keeper and I replaced the belt for good measure. Test mowed some mugwort and it did great.

Put the carb back together and on the Dolmar. Still not right. This thing is making me pull my hair out. Buddy is going to talk to the owner and see what he wants to do.

You should dispose of it properly for him. Actually, I’ll do it for you, just drop it off here :D
