I spent part of the holiday weekend working on my car, and then I built this pig:

I used a Ducati coil that came on certain Stihl 026 saws and gave it a few degrees of timing advance, along with an
early WJ-48 carb. Cylinder is an almost period correct mint bore jug with a new Meteor piston and rings.

If you guys haven't treated yourselves to one of these, they run pretty darn good.
what is the advantage with the ducati coil?

I have a slightly newer Craftsman snow blower that I maintain.
I once tried belts from the local auto store, don't do it. They cannot handle the spinning motor when not engaged or at lest when being engaged. After 2 snowfalls drive belt was slipping badly.

Since then I order the parts and belts from MTD LLC.

While hand warmers might be nice (especially with all the snow we have had this year), the cover on mine (thanks to the wife! ) helps a lot! For me is Cold Feet....

This year I had to replace the carb. Yes I purchased the Real Replacement at $90. Blower runs best it has in years. I would really like to rebuild my old carb and have it as a spare.
I know its a Tecumseh motor. What I don't know is what under this cap in the bowl area of the carb....

I have one very similar and it’s made by AMF and or Murray. Get the model number and cross reference the first 3 digits here:
https://www.scribd.com/document/30598280/Sears-Manufacturer-Codes-1

Mine has been bullet proof up till last storm. The plastic chute tore out at one mount hole. I found an oem, made in USA replacement part on fleabay made by Briggs&Stratton for $40 shipped.
Thanks Jason! I will do that. Yes these machines look like they r well made. I kinda feel proud to own it. Lol! Most of my things r not shiny and new looking :DI got way side tracked today when the wife suburban sprang a leak in the 42 gal. Fuel tank. Im taking EPa i filled the bish last nite and she was chugging trying to start in the morning leak......i dont wanna talk about it:risas3:
Just wanted to play with the snowblower next but noooooo........:laser-kill:
Once i get back to the blower ill be happy.....:D

Took a 670 top end off and putting on a 272 top end for a customer.
A guy has to drill the impulse port in the carb and add a 630 or husky carb cover that doesn't have the external port.

I've drilled into the intake block and added a impulse port so I could use the 670 carb. with a 272 cylinder.

Snowblowers #10 & 11 I've worked on this snowblower season.

MTD is getting a carb rebuild, new fuel valve, fuel and primer lines, belts, auger cable and belts plus an engine service.

Ariens 5520 is getting a carb rebuild, new fuel valve, fuel and primer lines plus a recoil rope and engine service.

Started doing a bigger clean up of the shop which I'll be continuing on tomorrow evening after work. Put the old malfunctioning propane heater in the back shed for now. Picking up the new regulator/hose and fan kit this afternoon at Tractor Supply and I'll pick up the new heater next weekend. Have the kerosene heater for the time being.

MTD 5/22 got the carb reassembled with a new OEM kit and aftermarket float, carb reinstalled, fired up first pull! Let it warm up and then adjusted the carb as needed. Changed the oil and spark plug. Still waiting for the belts and cable which I'll have this week. Tomorrow I'll get started on the Ariens and do some more cleanup.

New heater is getting delivered Wednesday along with a fan kit, 90 degree 3/8 npt to 3/8 male flare adapter and a new 12' hose and regulator assembly. That'll be Wednesday evenings project.

Heater ended up arriving this morning. Got it all setup when I got home from work. Pumps out tons of heat. Took about an hour to get setup. Gonna do some cleanup after dinner.
