Tire chains installed on a Murray snowblower, greased the augers, adjusted the scraper bar and shoes. My 12" 1/4" quick change impact driver bit extension will be here tomorrow so I can do the impeller mod. Only just waiting for a shear bolt kit as one shear bolt was missing and the other one was just a regular bolt. Not going to send it out with the improper shear bolts in the auger, have him hit something and ruin the gearbox.

Cleaned/rebuilt a Tecumseh carb for a buddy of mine. Just need to mail it back to him.

image.jpg Doin some maintenance on the old girl. Shes been used little, i know the lady personally . Next door neighbor that i shovel snow for:D
Glad i have it this year! It has a few quirks but ill bet its been sitting for 8 yrs. Its worth its weight in gold and i wanna keep it that way! Lol! But im not a snowblower tech either. First of many questions...... im replacing all three belts (one shredded already, may have been like that actually when i got it) is there any brand that is better than the next? Ive done a lil ebay searching and found about 5 different brands.
Mtd
Rotary
Stens
Pix
True blue
And maybe a few others. They seem to all be within a few bucks and id like to just buy the best i can. Thanks!

Either ones will do fine. The machine was probably made by MTD. I have an Ariens. I know they don't make their own belts and subcontract out for their belts.
Nice. Looks like a Tecumseh snow king motor.
Thanks Jeff! I have the original receipt and paperwork! Bought in ‘99 and was $1100 out the door!

Ok thats y i asked. I figured the belts were original but now im seeing the shredded belt is the wrong part number than whats in the manual. Hmmm.....and the belts r MTD brand. Does urs have an AF? Mine dont, i have some theory’s but it just seems odd. U push the primer too much and the gas pours on the ground. Lol! Im a snowblower NEWB! :D

I don't see an air filter on mine. Lol
I just hit the primer 3 to 4 times max and it starts on 1 pull. I bought mine in 2003 I think. Only put 1 carb kit in it and a few belts. We get heavy wet snow. It's tough on the belts.
If I hit primer too much, mine pisses gas on asphalt too.

FLMAO! Mine is 3 pulls, not complaining either. Im gonna get a plug and prob a carb kit, also change fuel lines. Weve had 2 bangers this year both 10-12” of snow. Pretty uncommon anymore were im at. I know thats prob nothing for some but shoveling sucks after about 3”:risas3: im gonna fix some cup holders to this badboy;)

Total fantasy that ill never do but it would be cool. If ur hands r cold u need more “cup holders”:D
Now changing out the head lite for an LED is more likely to happen
Make sure it’s a light that actually gets a little warm or it will get snow covered and be useless.

If it has lights then it has at least a "lighting coil" that should put out enough juice to run heated handles.
Changing standard bulb to led should free up enough to run them at the same time.
