Most likely tomorrow's project. Installing the trailer wiring harness on the new ride. Found a better 5/8 receiver pin and cleaned it up and painted it. Toughest part of installing the wiring harness is going to be running a wire to the battery to power up the convertor box/module.

Let’s be realistic here a Ford Escape isn’t really intended as a dedicated towing vehicle with that short wheelbase. Im sure it would tow a 5x8 ok for dump runs but I wouldn’t load it heavy. I didn’t even like towing my 2500lb landscape trailer with my 4.0 ranger I had. Underpowered, the brakes sucked and the trailer pushed that little truck around.

I've got a '97 Ranger with a 2.3 and a 5 speed .It will pull a trailer but it has a hard time stopping one with any weight behind it .A couple years ago my Bud with a 3.0 Ranger borrowed my equipment trailer which will handle a D4 Cat to haul a log to the saw mill which was only about 5 miles away .He obviously didn't drive too fast .

My 2010 Escape (V-6 6 Speed) was also rated to tow 3,500 lbs, but you better have some brakes on that trailer!

I did not feel safe towing more than about 2,500 lbs w/o trailer bakes.

I think the vehicle only weighted 3,600 lbs!

Hell... I know the guys with diesels could probably tow an escape and a 5x8 trailer... on a trailer... and get better gas mileage than the escape would towing a 2500lb trailer. Lol

Bottom line. Towing anything but light weight stuff with a 4 cyl is a crap shoot at best. Just not HD enough.
You need a minimum 1500/150 to tow anything. Transmission, brakes, suspension etc all smaller.
Trailer brakes is a must though...

My wife has a 2020 Ford Escape Titanium that came with the tow hitch, towing capacity is 3500lbs.

My 06 Escape Hybrid with the 2.3 inline 4 with CVT transmission was only rated for 1000 lbs tow capacity. I'm guessing that the limiting factor was the transmission. My new 17 with 2.0 Ecoboost and 6 speed automatic transmission is rated for 3500 lbs. It's plenty enough to tow my 14' aluminum boat and 6x12 utility trailer occasionally. If I was doing a lot of towing I would have gotten a different vehicle. My boat and trailer weighs under 1000 lbs and my utility trailer is 1000 without anything on it, but I generally only put a mower or something like that on it so I'm really only towing 1500-2000 lbs.

I've only used her car to tow a couple of light loads when we moved, maybe around a 1000lbs, and it did fine with that.

The sweet sound if success . A soak in a can of acetone did the trick on the carb of the Makita concrete saw What I failed to realize was the rubber seals on the throttle butterfly shaft .It was a tad stiff until I laid the Kroil to it .If I would have realized the shaft seal I would not have fully submerged it .It starts easy but since I don't have a wheel for it I didn't fine tune it .
I think the second one is missing the welch plug which goes over the filter screen .It came that way but I have plugs from kits I never used . . I about froze my male parts off in an unheated garage so the second saw will have to wait a tad bit .I'll get it ,I always do .

Project completed. Just need the bracket for the 4 flat connector and a terminal cover for the positive side of the battery. Tows much better than the 06 and the backup camera makes backing up to a trailer a breeze.

I got my 670 put together, I had everything except an air conductor and it should be here this week, hate waiting on parts.

Added extra/Improved lighting to the garden tractor. Welded up a mounting bracket and wired up. Much improvement. And was able to work in a heated garage. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh
