Next to my bench at the shop, Oregon
Knocked out 5 projects today, 2 Shindaiwa T242X trimmers. Had to replace both of their carbs....hoping echo will accept warranty. Ain't my fault they use a crap a$$ carb! Rebuilt a Shindaiwa T282X. Customer straight gassed it, but caught it just before to much damage was done. New piston, rings, connecting rod bearing, cylinder hone and it purrs like a kitten! Got an 026 Pro done that needed fuel system work. Also knocked out a Craftsman trimmer mower that needed a new carb and complete service. And right now what is sitting on my bench is an MS440 that needs a lot of TLC. Good jug and piston, but needs fuel system work and tons of other small stuff. And I have an FS74 that the customer rebuilt the carb on.....I hate when they do that. But...Who cares!!!! 3 day weekend and I'm forgetting about the stinkin shop for awhile!

I'm pretty sure @sawmikaze hates me...asked if I'd rebuild this damn thing...my initial thought was to beat the *s-word out of it with a sledge hammer then tell him that's how ups delivered it, but since I kinda like the guy I figured I'd bet not and just fix it

Best to use OEM with seal for an 088 mill saw, or are the aftermarket ones just as good..

Almost toasted a new 088 p&c, had a very small, slow leak on the clutch side, probably from getting too hot.

Any of you Miller's run a saw wide open for a whole tank of gas when milling??

15 minutes in cut, full throttle, try to maintain 7200-7500 rpm by putting gentle pressure on the mill.

???

WTF ?!? I saw this and wondered what the heck it was![emoji15][emoji15]

Was in my 12mm 044. Stuck in there hard. Got a screwdriver under it and it popped out.

Was a casting defect[emoji15][emoji15] still attached. Wow! It's the worse cylinder I have ever seen. The whole bore is covered in tiny holes like pin holes. And up near TDC the plating has a sunken area by a 4 to 8 thou the size of 5mm round. [emoji43]

Can see the burn wasn't right.

It ran ok and had good comp tho [emoji848]

And a 10mm 044 I have on the bench also is a wee bit tired. Maybe they should have cleaned the air filter more often.

Working on a 350 right now. Anybody have any ideas? I have an air leak on the back, pto side of the cylinder platform. I've taken off probably 1/8 in of the screw, and resealed it... still leaks. 123_4518.JPG It
