KIMG1084.JPG KIMG1083.JPG Reassembled and reinstalled carb on 357, followed @tree monkey video on HDA199 carb, needles set at 1.25 to start. Gonna see if she'll make smoke tomorrow afternoon. Ordered a 20" VersaCut bar for her which will be here by next weekend. Scored one for $40 with free shipping on eBay!

I have two of the newer plastic Homelite XLs, the small ones which I'm trying to make one good one out of. The first one had so many fuel and vacuum lines on it that I don't think I could ever remember how it went back together, second one not so bad. I'm going to use the best parts from both and use the carb. from the second one and stick it together the simplest way possible and hope I can get it to run...These newer ones have no exterior pulse lines to run the oiler so I have to get the feed from the carb.

359 report. Upper transfers r done. So stock was 123 after a reading with the covers off. I had said 125. So either way i left secondary port(exhaust side) alone. Primary side starts at 118 and full cracks to 120. Widening/ extending / directing to flush with stock intake. While the same design as my 2159, 2159 starts at 127 and has 24 degrees of blow down. This 359 starts at 118 and has 15 degrees of blow down. Polished up caps. Time for the intake. Still undecided.....We shall see what happens........IMG_8615.JPGIMG_8616.JPGIMG_8617.JPGimage.jpg

Thanks Dan! Time consuming for sure. But when u get a good one its all worth it! This one scares me a lil cuz i ventured off my numbers from my 2159. But never ventured never gained i guess. Hell 40-50$ and ill be back to grinding a new head lol! Wait i might have.......nevermind:D just rough figured older saws like more blow down newer saws like less. This is right in the middle at 15 degrees. Thats what im going with!
