I’ve often thought about doing something similar, but haven’t had a cylinder I don’t care about to try it on lol
Ya maybe, the q port 82cc macs were the weakest of the bunch, it was meant to replace the decomp and be quieter, should let it rev a little better, but slightly weaker down low. It the Mac’s most preferred the decomp cylinders with standard exhaust port

Are you going to get some numbers from the 461 for learning stuffs, maybe put the cylinder on another saw and do some testing stuffs...:zpong:

Lots to learn :)
Planning on getting another saw. Will just have to find one. Lol. Wanted to put up a pic of the porting....but afraid it may be “bad form” to do so.

It uses a windowed piston so why not grind in some closed port transfers. I’m really curious how that saw ran. Could be crap or next level...never know
JMS was porting 661’s like this. It messes with scavenging and they won’t quit popping without leaning them out on the ragged edge
