Frozen battered fish done in the oven, Generic slaw from Wal-Mart and Lime Aioli I made last night.

My sister in law was killed in a car accident a few days back. The family all had a big pizza dinner before everyone headed back home. It was nice to see some of the family I don't see every year.

Went to see mom and dad this evening if you can't tell I live close to all the family. Mom had fixed up some potatoe soup with fresh bread. I asked her is this soup fat free? She just smiled and said eat your damn soup lol.

I really appreciate it! It was only my sister in law which is bad but lord help me if anything happened to my baby sister she's the only sibling I have.

Plans changed as we had a drain line back up in the basement so off to get a drain auger. So we stopped at chipotle for dinner.

I'm hungry again. Good thing I have breakfast planned for tomorrow. French toast with locally made maple syrup from @Ryan Browne along with some bacon. I wanted sausage but the wife prefers bacon. Maybe I'll do both

I'm all about buying local but we only have sausage for now. When I was a kid we did our own hams bacon sausage etc. for some reason dad turned the smoke house into a chicken house.

I got the syrup in the Christmas thread and with him only an hour away I'll be buying more. With Ryan's recent broken ankle hopefully he will get enough help to make a good amount this season

I haven't seen that in a long time the smell just came back to my memory.

I hope so too Nic! It's been going really well so far. Had two great guys out there today and they finished bricking up the firebox. It's hell not being able to be out there myself, but I'm really blessed to be getting such great help.




Also, my dad got back into town today. He's not super familiar with the new syrup setup, but he'll have to learn. I'm hoping to get tapped by the first of March. Maybe a few days earlier. Then we should have some fresh syrup within a week. Glad to hear that you haven't quite run out yet.
