Thank you for posting that. I thought it might be some sort of "inside joke"
No worries, I had to google it, never heard of it before!Thank you for posting that. I thought it might be some sort of "inside joke"
You have to have it adjusted perfectly to you. Mine are adjusted that when I'm using it, both my arms are all the way down. The only fatigue is my grip strength.I've seen several trimmers through our shop with them on. People over 6' like them, although I never could quite get the hang of it (I'm 5'11"). It increases the distance from your hand to the shaft, which increases the twisting torque of the machine on your wrist.
I had one of those fs550's and found a Stihl harness that fit me well. Mowing an acre of four foot grass on foot, was a breeze using the 4 string head. It was sure easier in every way than my fs250, except on fuel. It was a breeze to deforest an area and no cutter I tried, slowed it down. But I no longer needed it and sold it.I have yet to find a sling/harness I like but even with your Popeye arms I bet you would struggle a bit with my FS550 or FS350 after a bit of time.

Sounds more like your neighbors the issue than a Stihl issue. Buy a 6 pack of oil and the Stihl will have a 4 year warranty. My fs 56 starts 1-2 pulls usually if you start how they say to same with my blowers ecrMy neighbor has a Stihl. Even if it's hot, he's out there yanking on it all effing day. Get an Echo, it will come with a 5 year warranty. Don't be a knucklehead.

Warranty against what? I would love to see any company warranty a dumbarseMy neighbor has a Stihl. Even if it's hot, he's out there yanking on it all effing day. Get an Echo, it will come with a 5 year warranty. Don't be a knucklehead.
It boggles my mind that Stihl thinks their oil is that good. I see so much trouble with it carboning up trimmers and not protecting them well at all.Buy a 6 pack of oil and the Stihl will have a 4 year warranty.
I’m kinda under the impression that ultra is fine as long as the equipment is run hard it’s in the more babied stuff that its high flash point keeps it from burning clean. All hard used equipment that’s run wide open with little idle time seems okIt boggles my mind that Stihl thinks their oil is that good. I can't recommend oil that biodegrades 80% within 21 days of being mixed with fuel.I’m kinda under the impression that ultra is fine as long as the equipment is run hard it’s in the more babied stuff that its high flash point keeps it from burning clean. I have seen a few legitimate warranty calls - a lot of it has to do with the tech presenting a good case to Stihl. But you are correct, they will not cover under warranty owner induced/caused problems.Warranty against what? I would love to see any company warranty a dumbarse
A 4 year warranty would be great, but buying the Stihl 6-pack or gallon of fuel only gets you 2 years, 1 year past the warranty that automatically comes when the unit is registered. Husqvarna has a 5 year warranty if you buy their gallon of their fuel, otherwise I believe their basic warranty is 2 years.Buy a 6 pack of oil and the Stihl will have a 4 year warranty.

The oil doesn’t degrade in gas or once opened it requires the microbes in the soil to break it down. The oil will degrade by 80% in 21 days after being spilled on ground. I realize some people really hate ultra but let’s be realistic Stihl isn’t selling an oil that degrades in gas in 21 days that would be stupid and cause all kinds of warranty problems.I can't recommend oil that biodegrades 80% within 21 days of being mixed with fuel.
