True sometimes I think people forget they ran motor oil back in the day as long as you have enough oil it will be fine.

I would recommend gear oil to him it lubricates the bearings better

Did they? I wasn't around 60 years ago, but I highly doubt it. Same story for cars and trucks.
I do know that snowmobiles from the early to mid 70's had pretty terrible reliability and longetivity.

Hey I’m sure it’s been mentioned but had anyone used the red max max pro oil???

I use red armor and like it a lot but seen it when I ordered the red armor and was curious, they were the same price for the 2.5 gallon 6-packs I buy..

Its a FD certified oil so it will work just fine.

I bought a gallon of RedMax semi syn but haven't dipped into it yet as I'm still using up the poulan syn. FD goodness.
I doubt HOP would opt for a stinker of an oil,.....but then ultra comes to mind....lol

Run ten tanks through your saw and take a look at the top of the piston through the spark plug hole.

A better oil years ago….not saying stinky ultra won’t work, but for the smell, and lubrication if red armor I have no need to search for another oil, just curious if anyone runs that max pro???
