$22 and some change for a 6 pack of XP+ bottles that make a gallon a piece. a quart of dominator is $15 at the local parts house, it was an easy call for me to switch
How much is a gallon of Schaeffer's? The price almost doubled awhile back so I switched to Amsoil.I'm almost to the end of my jug of ipone sled oil. Time to buy more, but I can't get it in the US anymore. The local carquest sells Shaeffer's. Which one is the good one, and how does it rate on the stink factor?
That’s what lead me to switch to Dominator as well. How much is a gallon of Schaeffer's? The price almost doubled awhile back so I switched to Amsoil.
The Husky XP+ oil is blended and bottled by Phillips 66 Spectrum corp . The new Redmax oil is blended and bottled by Lube Tech.Alright, serious oil related question: are these 2 oils the same formula? A Husqvarna dealer told me they were when they ran out of the XP+ View attachment 409543
They're both FD certified but w/different cert #'s
I literally spent the last week reading through this ENTIRE oil thread and didn't see these Redmax mentioned or discussed.. I think w/ported strato saws the mix oil is probably more important than ever so let's re-start this oil thread.
40:1 and 90oct E-free from local Rutter's gas station in Central PA so-far
They are not the same but I've used a lot of the redmaxAlright, serious oil related question: are these 2 oils the same formula? A Husqvarna dealer told me they were when they ran out of the XP+ View attachment 409543

Hmm so the guy wasn't right then, thought that with the differing FD#'s they probably had to be diff formulas but wasn't too sure on the rules there. ThanksThey are not the same but I've used a lot of the redmax
It's been good to me.
I'd buy it again if that means anything to you.Hmm so the guy wasn't right then, thought that with the differing FD#'s they probably had to be diff formulas but wasn't too sure on the rules there. Thanks
Yeah sure does, you've been inside the engines on saws before I'm pretty sure and If you're saying it's good then I believe you.I'd buy it again if that means anything to you.
That's still better thanYeah sure does, you've been inside the engines on saws before I'm pretty sure and If you're saying it's good then I believe you.
It's definitely gotta be better than this stuff (never used btw)
I did use that countyline brand in a 460 rancher at 40:1 for 8yrs, and cutting 10-25 cord a year and (at times) wood that was WAY too big for that saw with a 24" and it still survived until I sold it last yearThat's still better than
Stihl ultra
What??? Stihl doesn't have the FD sticker on theirs?? GASP!! I guess that is why they only offer a 2 year warranty when you buy the Stihl oil or fuel compared to Huskvarna's 5 year when you buy their FD rated oil/fuel.Bottom line if it's got the FD sticker on there then use it with confidence.
Hey man I used up the last of that Ultra oil as hedge clipper lube. It's supposed to be biodegradable right? What??? Stihl doesn't have the FD sticker on theirs?? GASP!! Alright cool, I can see that's the general consensus on here. I just got 3 new ported-up pro saws for the 1st time in my life and I want them to last as long as possible cuz I'm poor and I really like em.Bottom line if it's got the FD sticker on there then use it with confidence.
