What oil is best? and what ratio?

The crown looked rough and a little pitted to me, but I can't say I've seen many pictures of detonation.

The pitting around that crown is porosity in the casting. The black part has nothing but a hard layer of carbon. I'll send you some detonation pics later.

Benol. 32:1 benol. This is why castor doesn't belong in any ope. That's 9 hours of run time +/- a few minutes. That's all I was attempting to illustrate for those that don't know any better or haven't seen what can happen. I was recently asked by someone either here in private or locally. Can't remember. "Why shouldn't I run castor in my saw"?

Yep. It ran two other oils at 50:1 after being rebuilt.

Super Techniplate didn't pass the 1/2 hour mark in lean testing @ 200:1. I was surprised. And it stinks. I think all of Klotz oils stink. Sickening smell. Now I know why I hated the canola oil testing. Smells similar. Very similar.

I can't remember what oil exactly, sometimes Benol, mostly STP which is 20% Benol, perhaps boosted with more Benol. Run for about 50 tanks like that, so 25hrs?
100%Benol may have killed it, but I decided it had enough carbon buildup, and put a new piston in while it was still running great.

My nose is fine. I don't like the smell of Red Armor either but got used to it. Smells like melted crayons. Klotz, any of it, about makes me sick.
