Is Castor good for any engine? I know glow engines use it, but is there something better? Why does it not ruin glow engines so fast? 9hrs is sort of a lot for a glow engine anyway.

I've had glow engine get gummy from castor but never carbon. Just a brownish tacky varnish left over. Most don't have rings to stick either as you know. Probably the nitromethane and methanol are better solvents? In my nitro rc car days I mostly ran nitro with synthetic oils.

Castor is meant for full out racing where you need its superior protection. There is a cost. Its dirty, but race engines get tore down frequently to take care of that. Or should.

Seems like superior protection is cancelled out by superior destruction.

I hate colorless oils. They used some at work today. It just doesnt feel right pouring colorless gas in an exoensive 500i

Which oils are clear anyway?
I've used this and it's red, but it doesn't dye the gas red.

Generally there shouldn't be destruction but nine hours under near max load gave it plenty of time to carbon up beyond the point of no return.

I just want to see how clean it is and if it protects well.
Get some and let us know. Test it at 100:1 in a leaf blower or something. Just clamp the throttle after warm up and properly tuned. Oh and start a timer, take pics of the outside temp at start up and of the units temp at the cylinder and crankcase every two hours.
