I've finally skimmed through the majority of these messages on this topic. For me I will run any JASO FD rated oil @ 40:1. Lately that has been Woodlandpro and Kawasaki K-Tech. I can get the Kawasaki oil for less than $32 a gallon and it's a good value for someone looking to cut their operating costs.

Amsoil has had some sketchy marketing, and that can be said for a lot of companies not just Amsoil but that is the only thing wrong with Amsoil.

They make a good product and i'm not mixing their ways of marketing in my fuel.
Nothin wrong with Amsoil Chris. We ran it @ 32to1 in Mercury 225hp to 300hp outboards ported and on nitrous with no issues

They say don't you have to use it @100:1 it says its been tested at 100:1. The Stihl dealer recommends Saber over Ultra at 50:1.

They said if you run Saber instead of Ultra there is no need to extend the warranty.
My Stihl dealer always pushes the Optimix oil they sale. I'm not using that either.
While I'm sure Amsoil is a decent oil, I just don't believe it's the holy grail they claim.

I saw optimix @ my Stihl dealer the other day
Has anyone here actually ran it? The dealer says a local landscape Co. uses a lot. Just strange you never see it mentioned on any forum oil wars.

Honestly who would admit their product isn't the best.

Even when these threads hit a million posts there will still not be a holy grail oil. Find what you like, what works for you, pick a ratio, and run it.

Ive settled in on Klotz KL100 Original. Mixes easily, excellent bottomend residual , smells really good, everything runs good on it. Gotta try DuMonde though

I've ran 50:1 for several tanks and dropped to 45:1 and that's where I'm gonna stay.
