I saw a 880 milling on 80:1 Amsoil.

Melted the big end bearing.

wonder if Amsoil made good on their promise to warranty their 80 to 1 claim ? that's $1,500+ all because someone wanted to save a few pennies on oil.

I liked the r50 also. 40to1 probably would be good for general firewood cutting

after messing around and testing various 2cycle oils. I like 40 to 1 in a stock saw. There are so many scenarios that can cause a saw to run extra hot. 40 to 1 provides a nice fudge factor and is cheap insurance.

I run Amsoil Sabre with premium non-oyxgenated fuel mixed at 4oz per gallon. I usually mix 4 gallons at a time. Anyone have any problems with that?
In WHAT equipment? Air-cooled, I expect you foul plugs, clog spark screens, and have oil dripping out the muffler?

I expect Amsoil Sabre is synthetic? if so, you can probably run 50:1 at 2.6oz/ gal.
