Detonation problems on that piston crown?
And she still runs, amazing.
And she still runs, amazing.
Pretty impressive for what she has been through. At 50to1 it would not have thoso issues Im sureDetonation problems on that piston crown?

No need to destroy a big saw like that you just have to get wild thing fill it with 200:1 go out the back to the wood heap and start cutting with a half dull chain for 5-10 min lolYou can get a 371k or 3120k concrete saws cheap and hook it to a generator or some load. They are belt driven and its a chainsaw motor. Testing that would be a good scenario..
Impressive it survives but Ive seen enough to say it shouldn't be at the top of the list . Just my honest opinion and that's not to say I wouldn't use this oil at 50to1 allday long. I personally like what I saw with Blue Marble over ADOMSmall score marked in green in cylinder. Everything else is smooth. Sorry its taking so long. People won't leave me alone today for forks sake. People dropping by, calling. Grrrr.

It wouldn't look like this at 50to1. Glad it survived Awesome oil.Corresponding score on piston in red. Its much shallower than the cylinder. Rest of piston is smooth. Probably don't look like it in the pics but it is. And if someone don't believe me, gfy. I'll box it up and ship it to Randy to inspect if he will. Neutral party.

Its starting to carbon in the wrong places. Very nasty looking in the exhaust which would build to the port edge and ring land and cause carbon smearing and failure at that ratio anywaysCorresponding score on piston in red. Is that a chrome plated piston? and unplated bore in that engine?Corresponding score on piston in red. Its much shallower than the cylinder. Rest of piston is smooth. Briggs used to call there unplated bores Cool Bore maybe not just marketing I'm impressed with how that engine held up most bag unplated bores.I think so.
Ill choose the outcome of the RA over the ADOM anyday from your results/testing that Ive seen. No brainer IMO but that's just what it is my opinion
I know to the eye which appears better but to most that have seen insides of alot of equipment and tested a lot of oils and know what most of these oils being tested look like under normal operating conditions they will know better and I know you do Eggshooter. Didn't the RA clean itself up on the piston above the ring and exhaust? I cant remember. Lets also keep in mind we r testing completely outside these oils intended parameters and aren't going to be an impression upon what the oils will be indicative of in normal conditions. Im not a supporter of the cleanest is the best in oil. Like Ive stated earlier I look for complete combustion with moderate carbon in the exhaust and on the piston crown and transfer wash indicating a good transfer flow and tune. One of the better oils Ive seen for complete combustion without buildup in the ring lands was Yamalube R2. From what Ive seen so far in these test in deciding to run an oil from a protection standpoint and price it probably would be ADOM but I don't care for the detonation or the looks of the thick goo looking carbon building in the exhaust and when an oil doesn't produce any carbon hardly at all I have questions about proper combustion and efficiency if that's ones objective. Just my opinion and again Ill state that Id run any of these oils at 50 or 32to1. Im not cherry picking any oil or have an agenda here but stating only what I see. Test on brother! When is the all mighty K2 up?And these of RA at 200:1.
I like you Keith. But don't think you are as unbiased as I had originally thought. If you didn't know the brands you would go with the cleaner pictures. Both are good oils. I like them both. Run whatever you like. I will and so will the others but the pictures tell the tale. And Ra running in 31°-63° weather vs the 60's through 85° under lean conditions for Dominator should also say something.

Amen Ive been there and unappreciatedEggshooter, don't burn yourself out. Do the stuff you want to do, and call it a day. The scenarios are just endless, so make it your gig, and anyone else can do their own. I don't want to see you bog down with stuff that isn't interesting to you...
Behold the mighty RA at 100:1 vs the trash oil known as Dominator also at 100:1.
Red Armor first.
