What oil is best? and what ratio?

And I won't be looking for this magic oil. 15 years on Blue Marble. I'm sure i can go that long with Dominator and be happy. Or RA or BM again. Hell I'm going to test original golden spectro just for sh!ts n grins. Ran that in everything up till BM. I wasn't looking then. A fellow racer and hobby shop owner raved about it so I tried it. Stuff works as advertised. So does Dominator and pretty much all oils. Oils can't protect from stupid, lazy or a combo meal of both, no matter the brand.

Interesting about Golden Spectro... All I used for decades at 32:1 in everything. I bought a ton of it for my YZ250 after a Dirt Bike or Motocross Action oil shootout in the late 70's. Being a "semi" checked a lot of boxes, and it ruled the four ball wear test.

Oh Im not mad just looking at the results in many ways. Id use any of these oils. In fact I use alota different ones now. I definetely dont let oil control my thoughts like I use to buddy. Appreciate the test and test on. There will be another oil here before long that will pop up and be the puppies peter. Always is a bigger better around the corner on all aspects of life

Things is getting interesting.. From the video Saber is a much thicker oil than Dom. K2 is as thin as Dom, motul 710 as well.

Remember when I said a few pages back that misinformation pisses me off, good or bad. This is what I'm talking about. "Says so on the bottle" people are forkin idiots. This from a dirt bike forum in 2017.

"If you are using Dominator and plan on storing your bike, watch out. It has no rust prevention (as it states on the bottle). It may not be a problem for you warm weather bros, but I had a jet ski engine rust badly after sitting for a few months."

Im not a fan of sitting any motor up with any oil in it. If I plan on not running something awhile I fog it with Stabil Spray

I crank my OPE weekly if doesnt get used just for these reasons. Ive seen RA pool in carbs and thicken if it wasnt used regularly and set up several weeks. Just not a fan of not using equipment and setting it up. Then Ive seen equipment that hasnt ran in years and when I cracked the top and bottom end open it look new. 0 rust. Its odd. Storage condition and enviroment stored is a huge factor. Down here in the South with a high humidity almost all the time its not a smart thing to store for periods

Here in a few I'm heading oot to operate, pictures, reassemble and run the ADOM100-300 unit on some 40:1 something.

Go 350:1 before you run it on anything else ...............

Thin out the mixture gradually on the best oils to see when each one begin the snowball going down the hill

What I will do is run the Dom unit on 40:1 Dom mix to see if it cleans itself up. I'm sure after the abuse I gave it it will have sh!t baked on somewhere and I'm betting there is scoring and scuffing. Still has a strong pop pop when pulled over so no stuck ring.

I'm betting that the innards dont look like you're expecting

Anyone thought about these tcw3 oils staying cleaner, ( Schaffers, Dominator, etc), because they arent combusting properly? Personally I like to see a piston crown with carbon and transfer wash signifying combustion, proper tune and transfer flow. Super clean everywhere isnt King. I just dont like to see carbon on the ring lands

Yes engines need to be ran! When you have 25 saws plus other two cycle equipment that becomes a pretty involved process, but that's not the norm.

So I take it Amsoil came out on top, just like it always does in their own testing lol.[emoji6]

Ive never really heard folks talk bad about Amsoil? Yall must be reading something Im not! Im pretty sure I actually use to run Dominator when I raced the outboards but cant be 100% certain. I know I really liked the Amsoil gear lube cut with ATF in the lowerunit of the outboards. Id have no issues running ADOM from what Ive seen so far

Actually it may be interesting to see an oil ran repeat. Say 800t? Im alil suprised that oil didnt do better. This is alota work and completely out of place to ask Eggshooter to run anymore tests but thats just a thought out of curosity. Dont burn yourself out Eggshooter and appreciate the hard work buddy!!
