Masco stations are all way north of me in WA state. I am in Oregon. I have not seen any Mobil 1 2T oil here for many years. The one problem with it that I had was that it is clear, and I cannot tell if the gas is mixed or not. Elf and Homelite both have a blue dye so it s easy to avoid straight gassing.
The no dye bothers me also ,it is good oil though ,amost no odor at all and tunes good

Yamalube 2s. I run it in my YZs, the oil injected RD350 burned it, my vintage air-cooled MX bikes, my chainsaws and other OPE...same oil, all 40:1. Everything runs clean and cool.

We've gone from running/talking about motul 800 and H1R ~$20+ a quart oil, to now talking about yamalube 2s injector oil and wal-mart super tech tcw. :risas3:

Joke all you want, but that oil got ran HARD in the RD350 as well as in my YZ250s and 125s...not to mention the saws. No problems what-so-ever. I beat the YZ125 like I hated it- I am 200lbs and ran it WOT, just rowing through the gearbox with the throttle pegged. It never missed a beat and the piston was squeaky clean after around 30 hours of hard use.

I'm not laughing at you man. I'm laughing because we as a group who are discussing testing 2t oil, are nearly 10,000 posts into this. (~8500 on arboristsite and ~1500 here) I think it would be fair to say when we started, the vast majority all thought H1R and some of the other most expensive oils like 800 were the clear winners. And now we've gone to the clear opposite end of the spectrum in our discussions.

Not saying anything as been decided. It's just a good laugh when you consider the entirety of it all.

Dye is sensible in mix for sure however I have been using Shell advance SX for over a year that has no dye, I just make it a rule to put oil in can prior to buying fresh pump gas,you then get to shake your can at the gas station and have people look at you funny like your related to bin laiden.

I have also used a no dye oil and it always made me nervous. My dad had the dealer tell him he had strait gas in his saw trying to screw him. He showed them the oil and it has no dye for them to back off.

We have come full circle. Just dump some 30hd or whatever boutique oil you prefer in the can and run it. Amen.

Echo Power Blend or Shindaiwa One 32:1. I can see lots of oil in the cylinder and piston!

Whatever you do, do not use this stuff. There's another thread here that says this is the worst. I'm going to try to give this quart to cut4fun...heard he takes it off your hands for free:p:D

Yes, it was/is excellent oil. And it was cheap and available at most auto parts stores. My saws all ran faster when I switched to Mobil1 T2 from dyno oil. We tried to come up with a dye for mixing it, as we had 6 types of fuel on the ranch: diesel with dye for the ex's PU, off-road tax-free diesel with no dye for the tractor, regular gas for my PU, mower and ATV, super E0 gas, and super E0 gas 2-stroke mixed for the saws, blowers, and trimmers. We also had kerosene around for starting slash fires.

Cheap or spendy, as long as it is 100% synthetic and rated JASO FD or ISO-L-EGD I do not really care, though I prefer cheap. No TWC3 for my air cooled engines, and no non-rated stuff. And no bean oil, not synthetic-dyno blends, no dyno, no generic 'does it all' oil, and no super spendy Amsoil. Oh, and canola oil for my bars. Half the price of bar oil here.

How do you know or tell if an oil is 100% synthetic? lf the US high court could not find a specific definition for 'synthetic oil' other than ruling it as a marketing term, how does a consumer really know? Full 100% ester base costs plenty to produce, so saying you prefer cheap 100% synthetic kinda means you have been had. Oil blenders are pretty much free to write whatever they wish on their product, meets FD, exceeds FD blah blah. Why is stihls dino blend oil have a higher certification than their full synthetic ultra? Getting it yet?

Stihl dino has no certification here in the states, a few years ago echo powerblend was great oil for the price and it is now over priced.
