Higher heat makes castor really lay down deposits. To the point these engines need to be torn down and decoded on a regular basis. It's also about the only thing that allows these engines to live in some cases. So higher heat is better for castor oil?
I bought a case of the oil and have used up about half of it, so far so good.
What do you guys think of it?

Not FD rated. Looks fine though.Looks like good oil. Low smoke, no ash. FD rated.
Says Jaso-FD rated right on the back panel. Unless I am going cuckoo?
It's not FD rated and is in fact a NMMA certified boat oil. It also says to use where OEM specifies a TCW3 marine oil. No OPE OEM does this currently. Lawnboy mowers and Toro snowblowers(same engines) did, but they havent been produced for years.Says Jaso-FD rated right on the back panel. Unless I am going cuckoo?
It's actually impossible for an ashless marine oil to pass FD.No, it says "Meets JASO FD", which is not the same as receiving an FD rating from JASO. They haven't paid for the testing, so they can't put the little logo on their bottle.

Your correct. However it is a NMMA marine oil. And it is an ashless oil. No oil that is FD certified is ashless. Air cooled OPE require low ash oils.It says NOT for use where tcw3 is specified
