It don't have a screen and still has a lot of carbon build up?
RUN IT LIkE YOU STOLE IT ? With new tune ?
Every saw i have has a layer of carbon on the piston unless they're fresh assembled and don't have much run time. The transfers usually have a washed spot is all.

Piston looks great but don't want carbon sucked back in to exhaust? Thinking muff mod and run hard

I have seen the water through intake done to knock crap off exhaust valves before. And I saw a video of a guy that did the seafoam on a briggs motor and to me it barely clean anything. But I think I go with what @mdavlee daid and retune and run it.

Water will clean or tuning them 2k rpm too fat. Diesel pullers use water to cool and it does clean some of the carbon out

I know on cars lots of folks use sea foam right in the carb? Smokes like crazy then runs like new ? Have to run at full throttle in cara to keep from dying ? Anyone done this ?
Yep. 2 times a yr..kill wif sea foam. Then let it sit overnite, start the smoke dragon n run it .
It will really smoke at first..
No sticky rings...

I wouldn't run water through a 2 stroke. That little bit of carbon in the port is nothing to worry about at all. If you are really worried use some yamaha ring free in a few gallons it will be gone.

Water down the carb on a vehicle was a method used years ago in the days when cars used carbs to clear out carbon but I sure as hell wouldn't even think about that with a saw , some cars got bent conn rods from getting hydro locked doing this BTW.
What's all the concern about a bit of carbon build up in a cyl , geez you guys are becoming OCD , if it's running fine leave the damn thing alone !! :boxing:

This may be shocking to some, but a piston crown should have a layer of carbon on it.. If you are tuned right and using good oil the exhaust port will have minimal buildup and the muffler will be bone dry.
I sure as hell wouldn't pour water into the intake of a two cycle given the way the are lubricated. There is a huge differance between puting water into the intake of a four cycle or diesel and doing the same to a two cycle.

Did it on the old 318's which were kinda famous for ticking from a stuck lifter. Not Seafoam, ATF. Dump a quart through the carb, don't stall it.

Usually worked
